knock sensor torque setting

not sure which section to put this in really but just a quick question

 

just bought a new knock sensor for the g60 and i remember reading that it is important that the torque setting is correct.

 

could somone tell me what the torque setting is.

yup, somewhere between 15 and 18 LbFt is the norm according to Bentley... I went for a nice straight 15 and it's fine... 8)

Any ideas where the knock sensor is on a VR? Is that the one which changes the timing if the engine starts pinking or knocking?

There's two on a VR. One on the front and one on the back of the block. I couldn't tell you exactly, but there's no likely to be any other bits with wires coming from them at that point..

Follow the wire from the thinner of the two plugs on the rear engine mount to get the rear KS and at the front, follow the wire from the lower of the two plugs, also mounted on the front engine mount bracket.
