Blue_Joe 0 Posted August 26, 2006 Well it's 4:30 in the morning! The car is home but............unfortunatly not under it's own steam, we were let down at last minute by the Alternator not giving out enough charge. It does drive - I did drive it but only until the battery lost power! So quick trip up to the alternator repair guy in the morning and she'll be back under way, didn't get the miles on it, but I can soon rectify that! I'll tell you all more tomorrow, but I only got 3 hours sleep last night and I'm shattered and going to bed!!!! Night night!
MurphG60 0 Posted August 26, 2006 Least its home now mate, get the alternator fixed and start running those miles up..

Blue_Joe 0 Posted August 29, 2006 Its a 91. But believe me it was running FARRRRRR to rich!
bcstudent 0 Posted August 30, 2006 Blimey, it must have been! Do you have the printout from the emissions test? I'd be interested to know the readings.
NickVR6 0 Posted August 30, 2006 Fingers crossed for you mate. mine initially failed due to a faulty maf last friday. few tweaks and she went through ;-) then put it straight back lol! Better too rich than too lean, although the oils a bit smelly ! Really hope you get it up to 38, got to here it and see all these new bits dude! timmyC 0 Posted August 31, 2006 hi mate sorry if this has been said before but there is loads of pages!! anyways how did you find the removal of the side strips/protectors? i'm scared of literally removing the car paint! Any info from your experience would be cool! cheeRS
Rob_B 0 Posted September 1, 2006 u wont pull the paint off by removing the rub strips. its just a bit of an arse to remove the glue sometimes. looks far better for it, and much easier to polish!!
DUB 0 Posted September 1, 2006 "looks far better for it, and much easier to polish!! " Yeah got to agree with that, might need to use a heat gun to get it all off but looks sweet when done
Blue_Joe 0 Posted September 2, 2006 MOT PASSED :cheers::cheers::cheers: Before it failed on emissions on 2 areas - Hydrocarbons was 6139!!! - Turns out that was the Vac pipe from the ECU to the TB hadn't been put on!!! That now reads 111 HC CO Reading was 10.6% - Found that sue to a Lambda Sensor not working!!!!!! Replaced and now reads 0.4% Hows that for an environmentally friendly car. And it's decatted!!!!
