seanoVR 0 Posted June 23, 2004 Have just changed my rear discs and pads along with the bearings. Everything is fine but the ABS light now comes on and stays on. On start up it comes on as normal and then goes out, but after i've driven a few metres or touched the brake it comes back on and stays on?? What could this be, could they're just be a bit of dirt on the sensors due to the knackered out old discs?? Cheers

seanoVR 0 Posted June 23, 2004 Yeah i did. Not really sure what it can be really. May just live with it for a day or two and see if it clears.
corradovr6sc 0 Posted June 23, 2004 the sensors are magnetic and attract a lot of crud. give them a clean and see if the light goes out.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 23, 2004 Yep a constant ABS light = sensor fault and no ABS. They're very temperamental. Did you bend the ABS hub rings by accident or disturb the sensors? You need VAG-COM really to confirm it's definitely those, but sounds like it is, one of them at least. K
