ben16v 0 Posted June 23, 2004 i thought you had to change wings and stuff? or is that The differences in pre and post facelift models?? why you changing it anyway? personally i think the late bonnet is a bit bulky! especially where it comes over to meet the grill.... a bit too round for my liking (maybe just my opinion!!) Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 23, 2004 Nah, the C wings are the same AFAIK, I can't see VW changing late G60 and 16V wings to cater for the Camel (humped) bonnet. I could be wrong tho, I usually am!
ben16v 0 Posted June 23, 2004 just something i remember reading (or i made it up  )
VR6 0 Posted June 23, 2004 There are 'later' wings that are wider.... Not sure if they've changed the top bit where the bonnet sits though.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 23, 2004 I can't keep up with the change over parts I have to admit!
ben16v 0 Posted June 23, 2004 i thought i`d read something-like i said didn`t know what though!
MoonlightVR 0 Posted June 23, 2004 All post facelift models (mid 1992 on) Corrados have the raised bonnet and wider wings. A raised bonnet will bolt straight on though, so you don't have to change the wings.
flusted 0 Posted June 24, 2004 So Will a o/s front wing from a j reg g60 fit my g reg 16v ? If its wider would it notice if i had odd wings? Thanks for advice so far
Scott 0 Posted June 24, 2004 Yup thats right - the front wings and something to do with the rear end is slightly wider to accompany the wider track of the VR6.... If going from early front to late front you have to change the wings / bonnet / lights and obviously the grill.....
Henny 0 Posted June 24, 2004 although, as said before, the bonnets ARE the same width, so you can just swap 'em over with no problems... 8)
flusted 0 Posted June 24, 2004 I only want to change 1 wing from early to late.Is this poss without changin the rest of bits
Henny 0 Posted June 24, 2004 They wings bolt on in exactly the same way, but it'd look silly 'cos then you'd have one wide wing, and one early narrow wing... :? Possible? Yes... Good idea? no... ;)
flusted 0 Posted June 24, 2004 I would change the wing that had bad paint then try and source 1 for the otherside! Thanks for all the replys
