G60 lump etc into a golf mkII driver

Recommended Posts

Hello guys

I know its not corrado but still same family lol

Im going to be helping my mate put a g60 lump into his driver after the summer and I was wandering what the main things we need to do

I know we will have to change the gear linkage system to cable change. (does the body need modding??

I know we will have to put a pedal box in

Will his car need alot of wire cutting to get the engine running??

Does it need the drive shafts etc changed?

Or if any one knows of a website with all the info it would be great

thank you in advance

i would imagine it would be easier if you had the complete g60 wiring loom..plus he will need to fit an electric fuel pump, think it would be quite a big task

think the fuel tank may be different too so will need changing... :?

AFAIK the fuse box is the same on all Golfs and Corrados of that period, so as long as it looks the same, it should be reasonably easy to plug and play.

if his car is a 1990 the wiring will plug straight in, just use the engine loom (3 bog white plugs and one small white plugs plug a few others)

fuel pump wiring and relay and ecu realy required. as is a gti 8v fuel pump and lines.

use the g60 gearbox, hubs, brakes, driveshafts and pedal box so you can use the hyd clutch.

gear mechanism bolts straight up.

Mark Harries / Stealth built a 2.0 G60 into a MK2 Driver shell and it wasn't too bad a job.

I only wish I bought Vince's genuine VW Motorsport and unused MK2 shell, complete with welded in cages and pillow ball mounts when I had the chance :?
