Where does this wire go .

No pic at the moment chaps . But it's a brown and blue wire from the centre consul area . It's the same one that lights up the ash tray . I've just refitted all the consul then thought , bummer what does it plug into ?. I've fitted the White plug and the other one onto the heater control. I just cant remember what this one fits into . Both of them light up the ashtray.

Maybe it's a spare ? And that's why I don't remember removing it .

I *think* and don't quote me, that it was there for the lighting for the pods if you had them that went in the cubby hole.

I was thinking that too. I have the cassette holder , which has a rubber disc on the top , with a hole in it . So presumably you could have this lit too .

Am just looking at wiring diagrams and the blue/brown wire shows up at the following:

 

-Dimmer control on headlight switch

-Radio

-Cassette storage light

-Fresh air control

-Foglight switch

-Cigarette Lighter

-Oil pressure gauge light

 

In fact looking at the diagram any button that lights up

 

So probably a spare

Thank you Jim . Interesting you say the cig lighter . I don't think mine has ever worked. I've swapped to a seat one now as its red along with everything else in my car . With the White plug connected it gets hot when pressed in and pops out as it should do , but it does not light up ? .

There is definitely a bulb in it. I remember breaking mine and having to replace it. My car at the moment seems to be missing lots of dash lights, Can't see coolant temp on dash at night, none of the heater controls are lighting up and a few others. Meaning to sort it over winter, i just put it all back together as wanted to drive it at least once this year before winter set it.

Yes bulb in cig lighter.. I bought one last month from veeeeeee dub.... Only six left if I remember.

That's what I can't understand. There is only one plug for the lighter. It's a brand new part . Yet it doesn't light up ? .
