quikstu 0 Posted July 5, 2004 Dont know how to explain this properly, but here goes...... Had my 1994 VR6 for 8 weeks now, its done just over 101k miles. The previous owner told me he had the pads & discs changed 7k miles ago although had no receipts to prove. Recently the brakes have 'fought back' on a few occasions when attempting to slow down. What I mean by this is when depressing the brake pedal I feel as if there is a large stone between the pads & the discs & the brakes are not really taking effect. Its as if the pedal wont depress any more. It only seems to happen every few days but its strange, & worrying (OBVIOUSLY!). A visual examination of the pads & discs seems okay, & the discs are not overly worn & are not scored. Any ideas / similar experiences???????? Thanks in advance. :?: :? Henny 0 Posted July 5, 2004 sounds like you have a vacuum leak which is stopping the servo from working properly... Check all the vacuum pipes especially the solid plastic one with the valve in it which feeds the vacuum to the Servo 8) Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 6, 2004 How fast where you going? Could be brake fade? The standard brakes are known for it. Otherwise it could be worn calipers or Master cylinder. An air leak in the vacuum hose would also make the engine run badly, so you'd soon know if that were the case. Any graunching noised coming from the pedal area? Could be the ABS pump kicking in prematurely. That happens if the ABS ECU is confused by the signal it gets from the pedal position sensor. K Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
