Air pressure

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Stupid question probably....I am now running 16" 6J 205/45/16 on my G60. Do I still follow the pressures noted in my fuel cap?

Cheers

Jason

Wouldn't have thought so as that would be for different tyre sizes. Can't help tho as mine are 15s

It has come up here in the past, and based on what info I could find online, I generally set it to 1psi above standard for every inch in wheel diameter. I'm sure others have disagreed with it, but I was content with that. With lower profile tyres you'll want less movement in the sidewall so increasing the pressure seems the correct thing to do imo..........

I've always looked at it as still needing the same amount of air pressure, its just a different amount of air due to tyre size.

Like blowing up two different sized balloons but so they are both as squidgy as each other

Looking at the attached picture, it says 33 front and 30 rears. Not explaining its laden weight, but i guess a Polo is about the weight of a Corrado . Try it and see what you prefer, then post your results mate

Cheers guys. When I pulled the wheels off the rocco they were running @ 25 PSI each and it did not feel safe at all. Twitchy on accelleration and scarier on braking.

I've bumped the fronts up to 30 and the rears and 35 on the front and it feels pretty good! I think they are suposed to be bumper up another two psi front and back.
