Tattie 0 Posted July 18, 2004 I'll go for a set of Corrado G60 ones please many thanks
dinkus 10 Posted July 18, 2004 And lucky customer number 10! So people, I think it's time to start collecting money then I'll get in touch with Dub Design and order the sills. You can either send me a cheque, do leccy transfer or PayPal. If you have the money in your PayPal account already then that's cool, but otherwise there is an extra 2.3% handling fee I think (not sure exactly what it is). If you send me a PM telling me how you want to pay and confirming what sills you want I'll let you know my details. Thanks guys :)
dinkus 10 Posted July 20, 2004 Ok guys, unfortunately FurkiG60 is having some car woes, so he's had to pull out... can I interest anyone else in some SUPER lovely door sills? Go oonnnn you know you want them :D

dinkus 10 Posted July 25, 2004 Oop sorry ']['H3R4POR, I just saw your post. You've been added as lucky number 11 :) Edit: It looks like they replace the standard sills rather than going over the top, but I'll check for you.

Guest Posted July 26, 2004 hmmmz, I thought from the way the metal is shaped that they would sit over the existing sills. doesn't really matter, just curious. whats the ETA of these?
dinkus 10 Posted July 26, 2004 ['H3R4POR]hmmmz, I thought from the way the metal is shaped that they would sit over the existing sills. doesn't really matter, just curious. whats the ETA of these? I must say I'm just guessing based on the photos in this thread and my man in Canada isn't about at the moment so I haven't been able to ask. I will find out as soon as I get a chance though. Unfortunately the ETA is going to be early Sept I'm afraid because the sodding factory is closed til mid-late August now . Once I get all the cheques and order the sills, they should take 8-10 working days to made and delivered to me. However, I'll let you know a definite delivery date closer to the time. Guest Posted July 29, 2004 got any payment details mate? A bank transfer is usually easiest, PM me if you don't wanna post it here. Curses about the fitting, I have seen them before, and they simply slot over the existing plastic ones.
dinkus 10 Posted July 29, 2004 PM sent Fitting them shouldn't be too hard, I'm not sure how the existing ones are attached though. I'll PM Ka` and ask her how she fitted hers.
Guest Posted July 29, 2004 PM sent *several :-P
Ka` 0 Posted July 29, 2004 Hey all, Dinkus kindly sent me a PM about the fitting, here's what I've found, so he doesn't have to paste it here. Message sent to dinkus as follows: Heya, Well, they come with sticky tape on the bottom, although it's very sticky, I never got them to attach properly. First I tried them with just the sticky on top of the plastic sills. The doors won't close properly if you leave them like that, you have to REALLY slam them. The pressure unstuck the sills from the plastic sills there anyways. So, I've ripped the driver's side plastic strip out, it's on with some glue, but after ten years, the glue's become waterlogged and does come out quite easy. A little bit of gentle prising should do it. I then cleaned the remaining glue, most of it comes off in strips. The old plastic strips are ruined after this, so no going back!! I've used some 4-minute epoxy. Mine was bought from a model shop, it was meant for the R/C plane  I suppose epoxy from unadvertised hardware stores and alike will be good enough, although their drying time is usually longer and they recommend clamps. It's still stuck... Go figure. I have to do the passenger side when I have the time. You'll also see (well, at least the small Corrado sills are) that the sills are a tad shorter than the plastic sills. It's not ugly enough to catch the eye, depends on how anally retentive you are. I am tempted to put some black/clear(?) silicone in the gap. No piccies atm, will try to get some Cheers, Rica
