Timo. 0 Posted July 14, 2004 Acc. pedal on ma g60 is very firm almost to the point of sticking. The cable looks fine from the engine bay. Anyone have any causes or solutions. WIll have a better look tomorrow as there is a few panels blocking ma view inside the car. Cheers Timo.
VR6 0 Posted July 14, 2004 Just change the cable anyway. Won't do any harm than a few quid from the wallet ;)
16VG60 1 Posted July 15, 2004 The cable will be the problem. To confirm this all you need to do ,if you are reluctant to change it on spec, is to disconnect it from the car and check for free movement of the inner cable whilst keeping the whole item formed in a "u" shape to simulate the route it follows in the car. You will find that it will probably move freely when straightened out and the moment it is formed to follow any kind of curve it will become harder to operate. There is a very slim chance that your throttle valve has become restricted in movement, so whilst the cable is disconected test the free operation of this.
