Timo. 0 Posted July 16, 2004 If you measure the standard pullley diameter, how big is it? Measured mine on my new g60 last night and its 68-69mm!!! I'm sure thats not standard, is it? Na wonder is goes like sh&t of a shovel!!!! Next question, with it having a smaller pulley is it likey to have been chipped to handle it? cheers Timo. g-master 0 Posted July 16, 2004 I think a standard pulley is 72mm  So if you have a 68mm i would say it's been chipped no point in having smaller pulley with out re chip :)
h100vw 0 Posted July 16, 2004 Standard pullies are 78mm and made of steel. Aftermarket ones can be either aluminium or steel. Gavin
Timo. 0 Posted July 16, 2004 cheers guys. As I thought. I dont think the previous owner knew that it was tuned up. He just kept telling how fast it was and that g60's were as fast as vr6.... blah blah blah..... No offence obviously :). Anyway this thing is quicker than my vr. I was quite surprised by its pace, hence why I was sure it had had some work done to it. Cheers Timo.

Jim 2 Posted July 16, 2004 Well that'll be why the charger is showing signs of needing a rebuild after only 29,000 miles then.. rebuild interval is a suggested 60,000 miles but that halves down to 30,000 when using a 68mm pulley - so looks like its definately on the dot with needing a rebuild Timo!
