fla 9 Posted May 5, 2017 I mistakenly taxed my car on 28th April as i thought it would give an option for the start date. Turns out it did it from 1st April which then will.run out by end September rather than October as i has hoped (with a 1st May start). I sent the dvla an email about this and they said that nothing could be done and that the dates were fixed. Is this true? Are there any other options? Thanks for any advice
Hisnibs 10 Posted May 5, 2017 I'd threaten to drive down to Swansea and snap every leek in half within a 50 mile radius or summat. Narrrrh, think you're snookered tbh mate. I plan to buy 12 months tax from now on and just use 8 or 9 complete months of it and just let the remainder accrue on sorn. Be no harm in you doing the same for the October... just make sure you do it last knockings on the 31st!
seanl82 23 Posted May 5, 2017 They've got you by the coat tails there Hasan. Its a PITA, but they'll say its your mistake til you're blue in the face. As mentioned, if you SORN after paying up for the year, they'll refund what you've paid up front, or discontinue the direct debit if paying monthly. Obviously best to declare the SORN for the day before the DD comes out/beginning of the next month!!!!!
