Elec window switch annoyance

Recommended Posts

A minor problem maybe, but the double elec. window switch on my drivers door just does not stay inside the hole cut in the door panel for it.... it just half pops out and looks a mess. I've tried tightening the clip but it seems the actual panel is distorted so the switch sits badly inside it.

Does anyone have a remedy or experience of this?

My passenger side switch clip is missing so the switch sat up slightly. I dabbed a spot of super glue on the highest side, but only a spot, that way you can remove it again if need be.

hmm.. I tried the superglue approach but there seems to be something pushing the switch out from inside the panel - it just doesn't hold. Should I take the panel off maybe.... could be tricky?

On the earlier interior, I have the problem where the switch keeps falling out of the door card. As daves16v said - superglue is the way on that one. :)

There is a metal clip that sits round the switch.

I'm sure it would be pennies from VAG. On second thoughts, it's probably about £40 for a pair! :D

I've had a look at this clip and I reckon it comes with the switch.........so yes VR6, at least £40
