Recommended Posts

So today is my first day as a Corrado owner & id like to find out some more info on it. Is there a way of finding out which dealer it was originally sold it? Sorry if this has been posted before or is in the wrong place!

Jamie.

Usually the service book is stamped inside the front cover by the supplying dealer. The reg number may also help if its the original?

Thanks, yeah I have used that. I do have all the previous MOT Certificates. Would like to find out the supplying VW dealer.

I've just had a look and you can fill out a V888 form...might cost a fiver but looks like the DVLA will supply you with previous owners names and addresses...not sure how far back it goes as never done it before...!!!

Hello there,

under the previous system,

the registration plate usually contains a group of two or three letters at the end.

(if three, ignore the first, and use the second & third); very old ones use only one letter; these indicate the place of first registration.

This was from A reg = 1983 to Y reg = 2001

when you had the 2 or 3 letters like I say at the end of registration plate.

So if yours is XFP,

you only use FP = Leicester.

So possibly your car was first registered at a main dealer in Leicester,

as DOX has already mentioned.

You could always contact DVLA directly,

and ask if they've still got on file which VW Dealership they sent the new reg details to, like what VR6ANDY has just posted up / mentioned.

Could be worth a try ??

Si
