its not 32,36 or 34,its a star shape with lots of flats on it,is that right?

the one ive got is 32mm,my dad had a socket specially adapted ,because it was to shallow,it a 6 sided socket if you know what i mean :?

dazzyvr6, Yeah I managed to get mine off with a 32mm socket. :!:

thats what i have tried,6 sided,tap it home with hammer,put a breaker bar on there and it just slips off when you put an torque on there. :(

30mm regular six sided nut on my 2.0 16v - have my socket sat here .... halfords deep impact drive variety.

 

VR6's use larger shafts?

drill it and carefully chisel it round , can't use the nuts more than once anyway.

found out what size tis,30mm with instead of six sides in the 12 sided one :mrgreen:

am having the same problem, got a 30mm 12 sided doesnt feel like it grips well and keeps slippin off....and oh mines a VR
