you could always just pull the needle of and re-seat it slightly further around the dial....

Open up the clocks, nudge the needle over the end stop so that it comes to rest naturally and mark where it is with a mark on a bit of tape or similar... pull off the needle and then replace it moved a little further back than it was originally... now flick it back over the end stop and put it back in to see if it's closer, of if you've gone too far the other way...

Simple and easy to do, just be careful when pulling the needle off so you don't snap it... 8)

erm, Dan? UK Corrado speedo's don't have a "0" marker on them... the first one is "10" which is where the end stop is...

Corrado speedos are quite accurate but the analogue one isn't. I've found the MFA one is more or less bang on with a GPS reading. The Analogue one is generally 3-4mph out to 120 and about 10mph out at the top end of the scale.

If it's 10mph out from 10 - 160, sounds like someone's been in the clocks and had a play.

although as i have said before.... my speedo is 10% faster than my gps at all speeds but isnt noticable below 50 mph. i have standard 15" wheels.

10mph differeance at 50 mph is a big difference and must mean the needle needs moving...may be worth checking the rev counter is acurate aswell. plug vag com in to get a reading and check what your needle says then

Benji - I assume he means the average speed. Reset it when you're travelling at a constant speed and you'll get a true speed reading until you change how fast you're going.

Simple.

Turn the ignition to the on (no need to start the car).

Hold down the Trip Reset button and then quickly turn the ignition off and then on again.

Release the Trip Reset.

The MFA displays Mode 1.

Pressing the MFA advances fro Mode 1 to Mode 8 and then repeats.

One of the Modes gives you the upper RPM limiter (6100 I think) and one of them is a Display test (Mode 6).

Mode 7 is the digital rev counter.

You can then proceed to start your engine.

Everything goes back to normal when you switch the ignition off.

Do the later Corrados have the mph, digital revs etc? I remember reading somewhere that this only works with pre '93 cars or something? My speedo is out by about 10mph through the range aswell compared to gps, the top speed and 0-60s i had don't look so good now.

I thought only the G60 had diagnostic mode?

But I'll print it off and try it at lunchtime though!

No mate I've done it with all my VR6's.

No digital speedo only digital rev counter.

Useful for checking that idling speed - mine was about 850 ish.

Did take a bit of fiddling / hacking though.

Cos the other guide out there tells you to hold down the MFA while switching the ignition off and then on.

5 - Segment test --- All LCD segments selected

6 - Pulse from speedometer --- 4 pulses counter per 1 wheel revolution

___ vehicle speed sensor

7 - Engine speed (rpm)

8 - Program version --- same as "3" above
