That looks pretty sound mate from the outside. And a good buy if you picked it up for the same money I got mine for :thumbleft:. What do you think will need doing to it?

the lad i bought it off had lost his licence a while ago so its been sat since feb but it has new wishbones, rad, alt, pads, 1rear caliper, battery, matrix also came with motorised jvc h/u, alpine v12 amp and 12" pioneer sub, sony front speakers etc, the bbs have 4 new bravus? tyres, bit of a big dtm style exhuast and k&n filter which i cleaned today as was oily

it failed mot in feb on h/l too high, horn, not working and play in steering column - he`d sorted the first two and today i bolted the column solid

the central locking has failed but he put a new pump in with no joy so i cant open the boot from the outside and ive no key for the boot

its done 172k with stamps upto 131k when the cambelt was done last few other receipts dating back to 2001, it uses a bit of oil 1l/750miles, and about a week before he sold it someone hit the pass door, he`s pushed it out bit it would need bodyshopping really but looks ok for a cheap hack. tiny bubble of rust on rear panel and rear arch and windscreen seal is kaput

That doesn't sound too bad at all. Just a few odds and ends to keep you amused. I'm gonna miss my valver when it's done. I'm not gonna know what to do with myself.

Love the colour of it!

I think Supercharged is running the same tyres (Bravaris or something) and he's been pretty happy with them..

well been a little while since i been posting on here much.

broke my leg wakeboarding 51/2weeks ago and been in cast until today... out now can walk ok so sat in the car flat battery who was i kidding!!

had to leave battery on for the alarm thou, quick jump start and away.... oh yes!

been driven around in gf mk3 goof with soggy suspension so it was a great surprise to drive mine again!

Q: how long should it take for a battery (bosch silver 64amp?) to get a full charge from driving? lights on will stop charging a bit i assume but with these dark evenings dont get nuch of a choice

the grey 16v went on ebay so cheap i couldnt believe it, but i needed to get rid. if id of know id of broken it before spending any money on it...oh well

hope the new fella enjoys it although i told him about here i dont think he joined up

theres my update so tomorrow i`ll mainly be cleaning my car

GREAT- a young driver drova at 45 degrees into my rear arch making a tennis ball sized dent just behind the rubbing strip a scrape over the arch and into the bumper, it doesnt look too bad but i didnt do it so why should i have it there!

just spoke to her father who obviously wants to sort it out of insurance, i`ve had 3 quotes today varying from 250-400 for repair and the rear quarter spraying, is this reasonable or a bit steep as her father thinks. i`m not worried about making any cash just want it back to standard it was.

gonna get a few more quotes tomorrow and see

any info welcomed!! :(

Get the companies to give you a written quote, then you can show the father that the prices are reasonable. Don't get it done by a schitt company just to satisfay him either. You shouldn't have to have a substandard job done. You want it back exactly the way it was, and if he doesn't want to go through insurance then he should foot whetever bill he's presented with.

cheers thats what i`m thinking got 3 today gonna get another 3 tomorrow, cant argue with that, feel i`ve done above whats needed of me.

as much as he wants the cheapest i want the best so an average of the quotes is fair?

its just a ballache

well the car has been fine for the last few 7 years bits and bobs obviously but when your seat runner falls through the fllor and you can see through it i think it might be time to call it a day!! not sure what to do as the floor will need plating but the cost involved and the worth of the car dont really add up

so its either break it, sell it as a whole for spares or get it fixed????

oops! guess it depends what condition everything else is in but there are spare shells around or plenty of other Cs to go for too. if you're not too strapped for cash you're spoilt for choice really!

well it didnt go to heaven, i had it fixed and it been fine for the last year, although i have just bought another car so it will be going soon!!

it last week snapped a spring on the front left and with the mot due in 2 weeks will be selling it for spares or repair - not going to break it! it will be an easy fix for someone but dont have the cash to buy new springs get them fitted and mot it :( so once i write my for sale thread i`ll post it up.

i reckon 80,000miles in one seat is enough for anyone lol

cheers guys
