VR6 cam sprockets - quick question...

Recommended Posts

How do you remove the cam sensor trigger wheel from the cam sprocket? Does the cam sprocket bolt have to come off first?

Cheers,

Robbo

The trigger sensor should be intergral with the sprocket, i.e. a raised metal portion. It is on my 94 at least.

To get that off you need a torque wrench in reverse (for the leverage) and a spanner on the cam shaft. They're on bloody tight, really tight, so go easy! If you sheer the bolt or bend the woodruff slot, new cams will be required.

Pretty sure mine's a seperate plazzy wheel with a magnet inside Kev, but I'm not sure how it's attached.

Cheers,

Robbo
