fla 9 Posted March 31, 2022 (edited) My door speakers seem to have gone a bit scratchy but having a search on YouTube they can be rectified by running a low voltage signal through them for 10 or 15 minutes. The question is how do you create a signal without a dedicated signal generator? Anything with a normal home amp and cd player perhaps? They're components not 3-way speakers Thanks Hasan Edited March 31, 2022 by fla
fendervg 33 Posted March 31, 2022 Not sure what you mean by "scratchy" - are you sure it's not loose wiring or a damaged speaker cone? I would have thought running a low volume static radion channel through it would be the same as what you describe - but I'm not and expert on ICE so stand to be corrected/educated. fla 9 Posted April 1, 2022 Good suggestion regarding the static radio channel. Basically when you press the centre of the cone it sounds like it's scraping against the coil inside.
