On my list too. Well done for pointing this out mate 👍

Aye you can’t be complacent with fuel lines we know how the story ends -  the actual rubber ones on the fuel pump I pulled and were really good so just left them . My Mk2 they were awful so changed out . To be honest a vr fuelling is a joy to work compared to a KR as must have quad the components including 7 injection lines alone .

Nice work out here, thou. Thank you guys for the pictures. They will be useful.

I will bought the hose directly to VW, because they has stock and I can return to the job this week.

Did mine yesterday. Thanks Keyo I hadn't realised the brass was inside the hard plastic pipes. I did use the dremmel in my situation as pipes were done on the work bench. Took 5mins max and way easier than I had imagined.

Is it worth replacing the blue pipe above with a hose directly from the tank to the portion of pipe running underneath the car?

Could do I guess but the blue pipe is a return and not under much pressure compared to the other one. Theortically i suppose you could just run a fuel pipe and do away witht the plastic bit then they would not clip up into factory clips.

Finally can get a good fuel hose and replace both:
