dr_mat 0 Posted August 11, 2004 From the VW UK FAQ: How do I contact the Recall Campaign Help-desk? The telephone number for the help desk is 01908 601243. Note the fan recall above (which my chassis number falls into) only applies to cars that had air-con prep done to them, or were fitted with air-con. Presumably at the factory. Tempest 0 Posted August 17, 2004 I just phoned up the Milton Keynes VW support line (campaign line as they call it) asking whether on my Rado the heater matrix might have been exchanged to cure the "possibility of coolant leakage into passenger compartment" issue due to an exploded matrix. As the guy couldn't trace my car on license plate (import), or on VIN (didn't show up on their system), he couldn't help me, also mentioning that he thought the campaign, i.e. recall, had now been closed given the age of the vehicle ! Oh well, I'll just have to hope the matrix doesn't go pop  Anyone else had some more luck? Tempest

fla 9 Posted January 31, 2005 I just called the helpline and he told me straight away after I gave him the chassis no that they had replaced the cooling fan belt. Seemed a little too quick to me tbh - almost seemed as if they didnt want to know. I've asked him to send me a confirmation of this, so at least from the legal perspective I'll be covered. Should have asked when it was done though.
Dredgey 0 Posted September 1, 2005 Fortunately the cowboys at the Stealership broke my wiring loom anyway so it avoided any arguments over recalls. Still suspect my heater matrix is a bit iffy though, is this the 4th recall on that list??
