superchargedpolo 0 Posted August 24, 2004 Just for a change the orange ABS warning light has come on in my N reg VR6. Have done the usual clean up of the sensors and rotors etc, all of which seem to be in pretty good nick. Guess I’ll have to get it plugged in to see which sensor is knackered. Have phoned round a couple of places in the Glasgow area who want to charge me an arm and a leg for about a 5 minute job. I don’t mind a tenner but do object to £30. Any ideas of anyone who can offer this service at a sensible price? Cheers Craig.
dr_mat 0 Posted August 24, 2004 That's annoying isn't it? My local VW specialist won't read the codes without charging "minimum labour" either. I mean, it's a 5 minute job.. After all the work I've put their way.. :x .. grrr ..
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted August 24, 2004 Make sure each wheel sensor's plug is firmly attached. I had the orange light syndrome too and assumed the front left sensor was dead (according to VAG-COM), but it turned out that the plug wasn't seated fully on the wheel sensor. superchargedpolo 0 Posted August 24, 2004 Yeah, have unplugged each sensor and checked for corrosion or any contamination and made sure they are all firmly plugged back in again. Looks like I’ll need to prepare myself for a fleecing!!
