STORM 2 0 Posted August 24, 2004 Chap at national Tyres suggested cutting a bigger bumper hole. Gosh, these people astound me with their swift solutions to seemingly impossible problems!!! This guy should surely be involved in the NASA space program - rather than being wasted at a tyre fitting place!
jedi-knight83 0 Posted August 24, 2004 use stiffer rubber mounts??? im having a miltek fitted soon...hope i dont get similar probs!
randal 0 Posted August 24, 2004 Just had to go over my whole exhaust system (again, 2nd time). Had to adjust all the clamps on the system from the downpipe back. Was a trade off between proper hanging mounts, or blowing. I went for the sound system, and the ******* clamp option. Took 45 minutes, two screw drivers and much swearing to get the Miltek to play ball. It did, eventually. BUT, the tip wasn't centred - easily remidied with garden wire. Gotta love those ghetto fixes. :D
16VG60 1 Posted August 28, 2004 Have you replaced the exhaust rubber mounts or are you using the existing items? Some VR6's are fitted with particularly flexible rubbers and these are tendant to cause this type of problem. I would recommend you replace the mounting rubbers and re-align the system. It helps to have an assistant hold centrally in place the tailpipe while you tighten the system clamps from front to rear.
