Anyone want to comment?

I think it's about right - I think £4k would still be a reasonable price, but anything below that (or above £5k) would be a bit off the mark.

Between 4 and 5 is abour right I reckon...

Probably a bit overpriced as it hasn't got leather and is one of the early cars. There are plenty around with better specs and lower mileages but it does look like it's in very good nick. Have the cylinder head and chains/tensioners been done?

Mine is the later spec!!!

No the timing chains and tensioners dont need doing - thats from two VW specialists and VW themselves :D

What price did they offer you ? I think if its as good as you say you should stick to your asking price! There's a lot of abused and neglected examples around!

Aye... stick to your guns.

Corrado prices ARE on the up without a doubt and there is big demand.. keep at it mate!

He reckonned would offer four grand - but I said I wouldnt accept anything less than £4.5k...

He said it was the first one he had looked at so I told him to go and look at some more...

He reckonned was alot of money for an old car as well..

Looking in Auto Trader I think I have priced about right to be honest?

When he's had a look at some of the abused cars with a conveniently missing history and 43 owners, he might understand why you were charging slightly above average. Again, £4500 seems fair to me mate. Someone WILL pay that for a well looked after car. Let me put it like this - if your car had come up for sale when I was doing the rounds for my second Corrado, I would have come up to have a look at that price.

Cheers mate - thats all I want to hear :D

Its had two owners from new and although its not FSH technically as the service book is not fully stamped up it does have a 3 inch thick folder full of invoices with servicing, etc on....

The car drives spot on with no faults what so ever...

What's he doing looking at a Corrado for if he thinks it's an "Older car" arse... just ignore and move on.

Exactly my thoughts... and thats half the problem - people refer to it as an old car.... If I took the plates off it and put a private plate on it people would think it was nearly brand new!

Scott,

if you think its worth it keep at it,it depends how desperate you are to sell.

Some people are daft arnt they,he offered you 4k for your car,its a good starting point;

so you know its worth the 4k

so now try and get 4.5

the only other way I drop prices

is to lift the tax disc and remove the stereo it gets pointless after a while as they are buying just the bare motor.

I love cars with history even if its parts departments reciepts,I just tend to write on them when fitted so it is

'service history'

I loathe paying £70 for the inspections, when all I know they do is count the tyres and change the oil but I do pay it.

as you show your car off as I see in your avatar it must be a nice one and getting rare to buy by the day.

we still cant get over someone paying the wife £1200 for her Mk1 Gti golf in llassa green, but like the corrado book values are a pile o pish unless you have to resort to a tradein, you should never have to :D :D

I really dont want to rip the car apart to be honest - it stays as it is - I am not in any rush to sell although once I get my new motor I probably will be....

Cheers for the comments people.

I personally reckon its worth £4500 so I will hold out for that - somebody must want to pay it!!! :D

Mate, your car is mint and agreed, don't settle for a crummy price. You will get loads of tight arse gits and tyre kickers before the person that knows what they want see it.

I mean, come on, 0-60 in 6.4 seconds and a genuine 150 mph car.....for £4K!!! A Bargain.

I have just stuck the price up to £4695 ono ...

Got too many people complaining it was £4500 no offers - everyone likes to haggle it seems

I have also changed the ad so it includes the fact it has cloth interior - had 4 calls asking that alone....

But yeah my VR looks lovely and everyone who has seen it says so 8)

The guy turned up in a Scoobie

I wouldn't say "no offers" in your ad mate. It just sounds too harsh and arrogant (not that you are), in my opinion

Stick it up at your £4650 price and be prepared to drop a little.

I still can't believe you're selling it, but it's your perrogative. You will miss it!

P.S. Speaking of Scoobies.... I seriously annoyed one today on the way back from E38. He got up my backside and steamed past me when I pulled over. So I thought I'd have a little play. Typical Haywire, one arm out the window and a finger up the nose and he couldn't lose me. He gave up up at 130 and pulled over with a very dissatisfied look on his face, LOL!

Yeah been told that a few times by people hence why changed it to £4695 ono.

I cant believe selling either mate and I will miss her alot but I do need a change... - Corrados for five 1/2 years now....

LOL - I tol the guy the VR would have the Scoobie after 70mph and he wouldnt have it

Yes mate ...

I had a 16V Corrado for 2 1/2 years.... that got wrote off due to my best mate driving into it

then I bought my VR6 ... had it nearly 3 yrs now...

So you can see what I mean about wanting to try something different - to be honest I can see me buying another Corrado somewhere down the line but not for some time to come.

Focals are already back in the box

Sub and Amp is coming out shortly but not sure if they will fit my new car anyway with it being a sealed boot so might let them go with the VR ... we'll see.

Cheers

Scott

I usually advertise stuff as "no offers" and it doesn't put me off when I read it in someone else's advert. At least you know what to expect - I hate the haggling. Either it's worth the asking price or it's not.

I am getting REALLY annoyed now...

I have had about 20 calls now for the VR6... everytime I mention it has 114k miles and is a K plate I get:

well its over priced for a K reg car so no thanks...

HOW the F**K do they know if its over priced by not even viewing my VR!!

CONDITION DENOTES PRICE NOT THE REGISTRATION PLATE OR MILEAGE!!!! :p:p:p:p

Does your advert say the mileage and the year, If not then thats why...

If you state all the basic info in the advert then you will only get serious people call up...
