water leak

Recommended Posts

my car has a steady water leak that has gotten worse over the last few days. i think i can see a hose that needs replacing as it is covered in white residue but the worru=ying thin is when the car has been turned off cold water drips from underneath the engine (alot) even when engine has been driven hard, the water should be warm surely. i am v worried and even my mechanic mates are stumped for a reason.

please help.

Have a read though this thread Matt. Just sorted a small water leak on my G60 over the weekend but it was the plastic flanges on the front and side of the head that were to blame.

it doesn't have air con. drips off the bottom of the gearbox side. i think it might be a hose or the rad, but seems further back in the engine. i'll get the garage to sort it out and get it ready for santa pod!!!

Drips at the gearbox end usually spell thermostat housing trouble, or the long transfer pipe that goes into it. It's either warped or cracked and leaking. Could also be the auxillary water pump leaking and dripping down the gearbox.
