  1. Can you keep the ac condenser with this setup ?
  2. Final part of the conversion. Lots of parts Anti-roll fitted Wheels are waiting :) New vs old New brake disks from Leon Cupra R (323X28) Almost there Fitted Few pictures from a road trip (some b roads) Another addition was new struts (front and rear). The front are from eurosport and the rear is neuspeed. That's all for now, please tell me what you think.
  3. So we started with the wings fitment Installed Hood: Look how much wider the wings with the old wheels: Because the wings are wider they don't sit nice with the front bumper, a friend of mine really wanted my bumper (because it's from a US Corrado) and gave me a good price so i got a new VR front bumper. The package was huge Assembly New vs old And how it sits now
  4. Again long time with no updates.... Long time i wanted to do a 5X100 swap (plus suspension), so a while back i started collecting the parts for it. The first thing and the most crucial was wheels (i'm a wheels whore, i think it's my 4 set in this car... :) ) I managed to find a used BBS CH wheel in Germany at a good price and sent it here. They were already refurbished: But i didn't like the color combo with the car, so i had them repainted (powder coating) And with new rubber: New center caps and valve cover Because the front suspension is different i needed a new anti-roll bar, so i sold my to a friend (also with a Corrado) and bought a new KW anti-roll bars: Bought a used front subframe: The plus suspension is more than 2cm wider in each side and because of my Porsche calipers i needed spacers (10mm) so needed to find a solution to the front wings, found a company in Germany that produce wider front wings from fiberglass, they took a beating in the Israeli mail :( And the most fun part (which is not really needed) a carbon fiber hood To be continued...
  5. While tuning the car we saw that even in low boost the intake temperature rise a lot during WOT (more than 40 degrees). My intercooler is a budget brand (Chinese) and was sort of adequate until now. The problem is that the Corrado is really ****ty car for force induction because of the lack of space for the intercooler (especially if you want to keep the original front bumper like me). So after a lot of measurement I've order a Garret intercooler core and Treadstone end tanks from the US. Old vs new Fitting the end tanks Test fitting Finally a bit of paint for stealth Pretty please from the final results but not 100% I'm curious about what setup do you use in the UK... Now the intake temp only rise a 5-10 degrees so the performance gain is notable.
  6. Hi all, Been a really long time since the last update, finished the tuning, the car made 247 WHP and 35 WTRQ (KGM)@ full boost (1.4 bar) With low boost (0.7 bar) car made 197 WHP and 25.5 WTRQ While tuning we found that the current intercooler is not efficient enough for this power, more about that in the next post.
  7. More updates. After my turbo build finished, i needed a tune to match, i was going to keep my AGU ECU but in the last minute I've got a really good deal on a Motec M84 ECU from a friend and decided to ditch the "stock" ECU and go with a standalone ECU. The ECU and wiring harness: In a moment of temporary insanity i decided to get a dash display, i thought i have to many gauges and they were scattered all over the dashboard.. So iv'e ordered an AIM MXL dash. Test fitted A friend of mine got it to work with the Corrado cluster (with carbon). Final result
  8. Great build! Love your progress [emoji106]
  9. From i've bought the Corrado it came with a nasty hit on the front bumper and lip, it looked like a fighter that been in to many fights  Here is a picture after a little straightening ive done a while back: I've ordered a 70mm lip from Spoon but the bumper and the metal piece that hold it to the bumper. Now straight:
  10. Motor mounts: Turbo and manifold in place: Oil cooler: Duct for the oil cooler:
  11. Hi, Long time with no updates... so here we go: Finally all the parts arrived and my mechanic had some free time. All the parts: Head is out: New head: Pistons and rods: Oil pan:
  12. Thanks! Actually i'm at the finish line... Just got to sort the body work and i'm done, or do a haldex conversion :)
  13. OK, last parts thread before installing it all... :D Vibra-Technics motor mounts: The front is competition and the others are fast road. Power Flex front sub frame bushings: Mocal sandwich plate: And oil cooler: Hopefully my mechanic will have some time and we will start with business.
  14. Busy at work didn't have time to update... First couple friends of mine took pretty nice pictures of the new RECARO's Really please for the seats, very comfortable and grip me nice. The replacement piston rings finally arrived. Got new oil supply line Bosch green giants injectors: After the conversion we lowered the engine, so my oil pan sits really low, ive bought a kit for ECS tuning for a hybrid oil pan (part aluminum part steel). Link to the product: http://www.ecstuning.com/ES2102397/ And actual photos:
  15. Now for the really good stuff My turbo is the stock 1.8T K03, the power is good, but not really enough. So i bought a K300 hybrid turbo for Beach Buggy turbos: It came with bigger TIP: 3 inch MAF housing: Bigger exhaust manifold: Bearing gaskets and bolts: Also got IE rods, AGU ported head and ported intake manifold (forgot to take pictures, and they are at my mechanic shop). Just waiting for piston rings, the first ones i purchased came corroded (the package set in the rain somewhere between Germany and Israel...) :(
  16. My Recaro seats was not in good shape, it needed a re-upholstery, I checked how much will it cost me to re-upholster them and decided that i prefer to add a little money and order new ones (also a good friend on mine realy wanted them to his mk2 Golf). Another problem i had is that my custom seat rail was to high, i'm 1.90 c"m and i was hitting the roof. So after a long search I found a used Corrado electric seat rail in a reasonable price: And the new Reacros: With the old ones: And installed:
  17. It's been a long time since I've update, so here is what's happened in the last couple of month. My speedo cable snapped, so i finally converted my instrument cluster to the after face lift model. New one: Since I've bought the car i had problems with the cluster light, so decided to go with illuminated cards. cluster open: With metal rings: Lights on: While I've changed the dials i did the reverse LCD and painted the dials in UV orange. Also install an EGT gauge, while searching on line so a gauge that with a little play will go in the stock Corrado blank buttons location:
  18. Purchased new headlights, one regular and one French spec. Test fitted them, what do you think, regular or French? On the table Reflectors: On the car;
  19. Until this point was my project over the last year, the car is finally ready so me and bunch of my friend did a weekend trip including auto crossing in a deserted runway Here is some pictures: Back wheel in the air :) My friend Corrado: What i learned: Need more powerrrrrr. Need to raise the front a little bit, touching in hard cornering. Maybe a stickier tires in the front. Need to lower the seat, i'm 1.88 CM my head is in the ceiling. That's all for now, will update as i go.
  20. Order a new radiator: Installed: With billet radiator neck: We had a problem with the new inlet manifold, it set to high and toched the hood, so we fabricated some spacers to the front subframe:
  21. Got some carbon fiber surprise from spoon. Had to install VR wiper asselmbly And installed:
  22. The horns are from: http://www.verdictmotorsports.com/Corrado_G60_SLC_VR6_Hood_Cable_Horns_p/0138.htm Or: http://www.spoonfedtuning.com/collections/corrado/products/stainless-steel-hood-release-cable-horns Cable from here: http://www.tdnparts.com/hood-release-cable/ You need to short it a little
  23. Another thing we have done is move the Battery to the trunk. In the engine bay we've made a connector for starts. Gearbox/diff/shifter Diff getting installed: New gearbox with the short shifter: Painted the front subframe and gearbox mount arm: Flywheel and clutch: Installed in the car: New shift knob: During the work in the garage the hood cable snapped, so ordered billet horn and Audi hood cable (the Corrado one are no longer in production...) Installed oil temp and pressure gauge:
