  1. I've felt the same about the Corrado since I had kids...That was 8 years ago, and I still have it! Although it's sat in the garage LOL., and I really could do with the money...

But I've resigned myself to never parting with it now, after having put so much into it like yourself.

a surprisingly large number of people return and get another later down the line.

This is definitely part the reason that convinced me too...So many people seem to regret it afterwards if they sell!

    Either way, good luck!

    Neil.

  2. im scared now lol

Lol, sorry mate I have just thought of the worst case scenario that's all. It's hard to tell if there's anything amiss by looking at the pics, but it's pretty obvious that the crank bolt has probably never been replaced. They can tend to fatigue/snap/become loose causing timing issues and much worse. I'd advise that you have the bolt replaced for peace of mind either way. (Available from Vw and an easy job for a mechanic with the right tools/torque setting)

There could still be an issue here that isn't showing up, but ideally you'd need the car running, as one thing to look for is a 'wobble' on the pulley. What you can do while the car is not running is to line up all of the timing marks which may put your mind at rest as far as a possible pulley/crank bolt issue. (Although it doesn't completely rule it out)

If all seems OK there, then it may be worth looking at something like the hall sender/dizzy as popping on deceleration would tend to be timing/ignition related on a G60.

See pics for timing marks, line up by turning your crank.

  3. Dragged it out of the unit today and ran it for a while. Felt a bit 'Meh' about it tbh. It's the absolute worst it's ever looked, properly filthy and has gone a bit moldy inside!

  4. Had two bikes stolen last Saturday night. My Specialized HardRock, and my Dads Vintage Raleigh Volant. Unbelievably, we saw some scumbag riding my Dads when we went driving about looking for them...Chased the bast**d and he dropped the bike and ran...

Mine is still AWOL. God help anybody I see riding it. It's a pretty rare colour scheme with some distinguishing features, so if anybody around Burnley sees it, please do let me know. Posted all over facebook etc already.

  5. Do you have two sensors with spade terminals on the side of the cylinder head? It's a long time since I played with a valver engine, but if I remember rightly one of them is for the ECU, and one for the ISV. You can swap the spade terminals around on them and then attempt starting to see if this makes a difference.

They won't normally start if the ECU sensor is knackered/wiring to it is damaged. Have had that happen in the past.

    Neil.

  6. Possibly hacksaw the heads off and go from there? Maybe chop them and stick some nuts/washers on? Just a quick idea off the top of my head... I'd be prepared for the worst though in case something breaks.

G60 is still off the road, never been so dirty! :-( But finally got around to fitting the Red anodised C.O pot pipe.
