Thanks a lot Quite fancy doing all the rear badges black as well but I will need to buy other ones first to spray up along with the front VR6 badge. Meant to say, when I had the grill off I cleaned down all the metalwork as always to get it minty fresh
-
Front black grill badge on with VR6 removed for now, poss get another one and spray it black later ? Changed the white prop clip for a black one and popped the wiper motor cover on.

So a few things arrived I will sort all the new bits out tomorrow as my garages are piled high just now so need to sort one out in the morning
-
When I get round to fitting them I was just going to run them from the stereo at first to see the quality but I will need a decent headunit as well but small steps at a time.
-
Bowden cables arrived in case they are required when I get round to checking the heater controls. Alpine speakers ordered for dash, doors and rears. New black bonnet prop clip arrived rather than the new white one as has the rear caliper slider kit.
-
SGS as well and it's decent quality for a decent price

Just ordered new discs and pads all round, new braided brake hoses, rear brake shields, new rear abs rotors, new rear calipers with carriers and carrier bolts and rear wheel bearings. Also full service kit for next year. So got to see how much I want to do to the back end ?

They seem to work fine but I will double check

I love my new VR6 and will hopefully sort out all its niggles and over the years make it as good as I can without ruining it so it can be sold on and cherished.

I buy my weekend cars for pleasure and not their future value, a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay. I've just git rid of a concours show winning series 1 mk1 Golf with 32k on the clock but as it was a 5 dr GLS it was worth £5500, if it was a 3dr GTI then it would have been £20k plus. The prices of certain cars are just silly IMO and for me a weekend car is upto £5k and then as much cash that I can afford to improve it without ruining it's original state. I bought my Mk1 Sportline for £3k in 2010, spent £10k prob on improving it and sold it in amazing condition for £7k but loved every second of it

Hi I've had more than 20 cars in 10 years as has my wife mostly Audis, BMWs and now all Vws. With low miles you do not need the extra initial outlay of a diesel as well as diesel is usually more expensive. Petrol engines have come on miles and the VAG group 1.4 tfsi engine is a great engine to have for economy and power. The lower 1.2 is also half decent. Without looking at prices an Audi A3 with the 1.4 engine would be a decent choice but also look at similar Seats and Skodas all basically the same car u see the skin. Leon, Octavia, Ibiza and Fabia where your money will go further than the Audi.

Newbie question alert Although my speed lines are mint the tyres need replaced IMO but I've seen a lovely set of Borbet A's They are 16 X 7.5 with et20 Can someone give me advice to what's the perfect tyre size for these considering I've got the Bilstein B12 suspension kit on the car lowering it approx -30mm ? Are 205 45 16 the best fit ? Cheers

I use Hawes Garage at Sth Queensferry but they are not a VW garage but have been superb in over 5 yrs looking after my mk1 Golfs. Is there not a specialist called Autohaus in Edinburgh ?

Hi mate I'm in West Lothian and just bought a VR6 after years of Golf mk1's. I've already done the Lupo wipers and got them on eBay for £30 posted, just refurbed them and got new blades and bolt caps. All in for £50 and they look spot on.

Hi As I am new to Corrado ownership I have just found where I can donate monthly to this club. I have signed up for a monthly few pennies to help out. My thing is that it's taken me a month to even find out how to do this and I actually didn't think you could. Should there not be something on the forum homepage for people to spot easy and contribute to the running of this important forum. I was a member of the VW Golf mk1 owners club and still am, for years and between the committee members and the homepage everyone knew where to go for paying up. IMO this is a really friendly and helpful forum and I am delighted to become part of it Cheers Chris

I've registered and will camp for 2 nights as long as I can talk my missus round as we are up the Highlands for a week until the same Saturday, so I would need to head down on the Friday. I've got a few months to win her round :thumbleft:
