Hiya, got a few questions about this intercooler - all dimensions; Overall size, Width - Height - Depth? Also width between inlet and outlet - smallest measurement? Looking to fit in front of a different radiator so wanted to get an idea of size whether it will squeeze into space! cheers...

ahhhh... well i have 2 keys, one for drivers door and the other does everything else (i.e. passenger door, ignition and glovebox) except the tailgate. Anyone know the part numbers for these (drivers door and tailgate lock)? Is it possible to change the barrels myself?
-
i dunno... the handles failing and ignition and dodgy waterpump n a broken pulley (ok not really a niggly fault) and leaks... one would be ok in less than a year maybe two... now its started to rattle... it goes on... not to mention my misfortune that was having a brick through windscreen and a small prang... DOH!

Chris VR6nos, i love corrados and this forum, especially the way everyone takes all the niggly problems in their stride... like "its ok - IT'S A CORRADO!"

...biggerbigben, and a squillion bhp 1.8t 4x4? ;) we can but dream...

yeah sorry should have been a little clearer with my post - the metal within the front bumper bolts through the subframe, it will become clearer when u get the car jacked up and see the bolts... it should just come clear pretty easy - remember the wiring to the fog/indicators tho...

would a grinder be fine? anyone please?

BigEastsideTartanTimmyG60, Do you kno what parts were used? i have the switches loom regulators and control box but dont know if i need it all... and to the rest of ya looks like all combination can be had... strange...

there are four bolts to undo underneath for the front bumper - if you have a look there will b 3 either side, DONT undo the big one but just the smaller two on each side. Also there may be a metal strip on the inside of the bumper above the spoiler that needs to be taken off to free it up. As for back bumper - no idea... havnt needed too - would presume either something underneath but more likely something in the boot?

do not profess to knowing alot about painting/spraying cars, but there are different ratios for different painting systems and nowadays alot of cars are painted with base coats (metallic & nonmetallic) and clear coats (usually referred to as lacquer... but confusingly isnt anymore since the demise of cellulose!) again i mite b talking out of my arse - but this is what i have heard through friends who work in bodyshops. I may have misheard or been mislead tho...
-
you certainly pay for what you get tho - if you can take the car off the road and know someone who can show/guide you through the prepping process it might make it cheaper - also removing things like lights grills - any trim that you dont want sprayed may help make it cheaper too - but only if you find a friendly bodyshop. Generally there is a lot of time consuming jobs to be done for a car to be painted... and time is money! Correct me if im wrong anyone... but some bodyshops around here work this way, afterall alot of the people that work in these places are enthusiasts like ourselves and arent ALL in it just for the money!

i have switches and loom and controller and regulators for electric windows... but im err too lazy... no i use the car too much and i spend my time working on my mk1 golf now...

sorry dont know if this is the right section... but i am in need of some general help/ideas/knowledge. What tools and cleaners/strippers/solvents if any are best to clean off the sealant and waxoyl from my inner arches so i can paint them? I was thinking of a hot air gun n scraper... but its so primitive and dont like the idea of heating the metal work. There must be some way to speed up the process other than just scraping n pulling at the damn sealant stuff? :?:

phew im not alone - only one thing i really disliked about my "keep fit" windows was that the handles didnt line up with each other when totally shut. So when fixing my door handle i lined them up... im so weird - my car looks like a rite rat mobile outside but my window winders are perfectly synchronised! Oh and its those winders that provide the aircon G60Jet !!
