hey guys, need your sound advice.
long story short, 92 g60, new standard charger, schrick cam, wossner pistons, decat, downpipe, bored out to 1.9, green injectors, new paper air filter, 68mm pulley.
basically had it now a couple of months and thats how i bought it. going pretty well and smooth up the rev range. i have since changed the exhaust and also did a boost return delete. Driving really well no issues and i have had those mods a couples of weeks now but today it had a real bad hesitation on full throttle through all gears, then it would go away on the next full throttle run but return the next etc etc.
Any suggestion as to what the issue could be?
Many thanks in advance, Aaron

Hi all,
Upon further investigation and advice from yourselves (due to a no boost reading on the mfa) I am in the process of ordering up the vacuum pipe (3.5mm inside diameter as recommended) to change all the vacuum lines on the car. I just had a quick look and the hose going from the ecu to throttle body at the moment is only 3mm. How would this affect the car if at all?

I would also start with the full service, should do with any car when you get it regardless of what the history says. As part of that service I would replace all the vacuum lines on the engine, including the one to the ecu for the MAP sensor. Open the ecu (ground yourself first) and remove and clear out the 6 inch length of vacuum tubing in there which runs from the case nipple to the map sensor. All these can get clogged up with oil sludge which means the map doesn't get a reading, which it seems from the readings you gave yours isn't. Once done full setup of timing etc, google for correct method for Digifant, needs to be done properly. After that re run your boost test, see what readings you get then.Ok thanks for that, im in the middle of ordering up service parts now. With regards to changing the vacuum lines can replacments ones be sourced?

"doesn't feel fast" means a lot of things.. what are you used to? I think you might get about 180bhp out of a 68mm pulley car, from what I recall, so.. what does "struggled 100 and beyond" mean? I assume you mean it wasn't accelerating hard above 100mph?Yea it seemed quite slow and sluggish after 100mph.
Ok I will do full service and take it from there. Hopefully any mechanic will be able to check all the above things as I don't think there are many in Northern Ireland who specialise in G60's

So after collecting my first ever corrado g60 2 days ago and knowing nothing about them I performed the mfa boost test tonight and dont think these reading are right. Can I ask on everyones advice and next course of action please.
Rough spec..
68mm pulley
schrick cam
green injectors
bored out to 1900cc
wossner pistons
new charger
on idle it read 1180 and to redline in 3rd and 4th it read 1120
im assuming its not good and for me the car dosnt feel quick but have never drove one, felt sluggish and struggled 100 and beyond.
letme know opinions please and what to do.
thanks Aaron

There was no mention of intercooler upgrade so I assume its still original.
anyone hazard a guess at what sort of bhp a spec like this would get? Or would it differ vastly from car to car?

So I got the car home. Nice comfortable 2 hour drive down the road and all went well. As previously stated I have next to no knowledge regarding these cars so here is a basic spec list after going through the folder of receipts and you can let me know what you guys think and what should be my first things to work on after the pending service which it will get. Aiming more for performance as this won't be daily drivin.

Full rebuild bored out to 1900cc
Head skimmed
Schrick cam 268/276
'Green' injectors
Brand new g-lader
Wossner pistons
Jabbasport 68mm chip and pulley

All the work was carried out around 2012/2013 and then the car hadn't been drove a lot but has been maintained to a very good standard. Will post some pictures when I get it cleaned up next Wednesday.
What you guys think?
Thanks, Aaron

Just saying hello from Northern Ireland. After having a mk2 16v a few years ago and regrettably having to sell because i was moving away i wanted to get back to the oldschool vw scene again and purchased my first corrado g60 and pick up tomorrow evening. I have read so much about them and have pretty much no knowledge about the cars so fingers crossed! Will post again with spec and some fresh pics when I get it home. Great site and hugely informative!

Not really sure what you mean but accelerator works as it should I guess, didn't feel any difference to normal bar the obvious slowness then would go then slow again but no consistency with the splutering if that makes sense
