  1. Thanks mate. Im hoping to go and have a look at it over the next few days. Only thing is, I dont have £800 for a new charger, so worried id buy the car and it would just be left to rust as I try to save up the readies! lol
  2. Hehehe, it would be nice. Not really bothered about the speed of the thing.....................well, maybe I am ;) I sold the Corrado to buy an MR2, then got bored with cars and bought a scrapper, and a 600cc motorbike - sadly some blind bint in a car ran me over on the bike and wrote it off, so its back to cars for a while! LOL Would it damage the engine running it without the charger?
  3. Thanks chaps. Ive not actually bought the car yet, a friend told me about it and im hoping to go and see it in the next day or so. Im still deciding whether or not to buy it.
  4. Thanks Jim, ill give him a call. The other option is stripping it for parts and selling them on eBay - im sure I could make a few quid, but i'd rather not sent such a beautiful car to the scrapper!
  5. Hi All, Firstly, i've not been on here since I sold my 16v around last June, but I may well be back here regularly soon! The reason being that Ive just been offered a Corrado G60 with a blown SC (apparently the bearing got a bit rattley and then *bang*) and dented rear quarter where someone shunted it (new rear quarter supplied) for £300. Im going to go and have a look at it as im a big Corrado fan. I have a few questions: How easy and expensive is it to replace the supercharger? Where can I get a s/h supercharger from? Is it worth trying eBay? Is it safe to start the engine to see how it runs before buying it? Is anything else likely to be trashed by the Supercharger going bang? It is apparently in good working order other than the obvious as it has 11 months MOT and 3 months tax on it. Thanks guys, Dave
  6. hehehe yeah - ive only driven it twice with the roof on, and that was at night - 99% of the time ive had the roof off - its absolutely fantastic! s'not a Corrado, but you cant have everything ;)
  7. so were you driving the car with someone else in the car before the accident happened? Otherwise how were you driving legally?
  8. LOL i wish i could have, but it cost me £700 in repairs in the 2 months i had it! I lost confidence in the car and just had to get rid. It went for a shade under £1600 in the end so someone got a bargain! I may get another some day - maybe a VR6 next time tho ;) May see you in Bournemouth someday mate - i always look out for V-dubs ;)
  9. ....ive now got this: http://www.evoposters.net/cars/davescars/mr2 Its a bloody hoot to drive, and lovely with the roof off! I just thought id drop in here and keep an eye on the Corrado posse - hopefully one day i shall own another :) (when the MR2 gets all too impractical!)
  10. Hey chap, i live nr Salisbury so know Bournemouth quite well. I no longer have a Corrado tho, but i used to have the one on here: http://www.evoposters.net/cars/davescars i still miss it :(
  11. Another vote here for CMS in Derby - i got my new gearbox from him...
  12. talking of that motor by the fuel pump, mine packed in the other day - i was running on the red, pulled into the fuel station and the fuel flap was locked! Much tinkering and i eventually removed the motor and pushed the little rod manually! What a pain!

    bone idle

yup that was my car that didnt idle - not fixed it yet as the gearbox imploded so the cars on holiday at the mo ;) When i get it back ill keep you all posted with regard to the stalling problem! ;) Dave
  14. just reread your post - did you mean how much? im going to advertise her for £2k ONO, so theres a bit of room for manouvre there ;)
  15. Basically in order to get her fixed ive had to max out my credit card - which means my minimum monthly payment has gone thru the roof and im totally bloody skint! Basically i really need to pay off some of my credit card and get a car thats cheaper to run, with parts more easily available and lower insurance. Ive been running performance cars for the last 2 years, and im only 21 now, so as you can imagine insurance isnt cheap - plus whenever they go wrong they cost money. All this has left me owing a fair few pennies. The Golf i had was 100% reliable and as a result i was actually paying off the debts i accumulated with my unreliable 205 GTI - unfortunately this repair on the Corrado has put me back to square one, so its really got to stop here. Dont worry tho, ill get myself a nice cheap diesel, pocket the extra cash and once ive saved up some money ill get something fast for the weekends - maybe a motorbike or a westfield or something! Either that or ill fit a towbar to the diesel, and get a 205 GTI 1.9 or Golf GTI 16v, strip it out and just use it for trackdays :) :)
