    The part numbers 535 819 415 A & 536 819 415 A are the covers for the main ECU

Yeh, thats the same cover, it goes over the ecu which is mostly hidden further back under the windscreen and extends over the penum chamber.

  2. Thats the engine ECU, the water went straight through the plenum chamber in my car and flooded the passenger footwell, the abs is on the bulkhead there and the water had ran right down the wire and into it on my car.

  3. GOOD NEWS: I phoned the garage yesterday about 5.00pm and they said they had started stripping the engine down but didnt have the head of yet. I popped in today as I was passing about 4.00pm and they told me that they stripped it down, there was minor damage to the cylinder head which was fixed and they were now in the process of building it back up.

This time tommorow I will be driving my C again :D

And the bill is going to be around the £350 mark which is well below what it could have been.

    :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

  4. I had it saved from a post on the yahoo group as mine was all cracked and allowed water in, flooding my abs ecu and leaving me with no brakes. I thought I better hold onto it as I dont want that happening if it gets damaged again.

  5. Just spoke with my mechanic, he wont be able to strip down my engine till monday but he reckons the damage shouldnt be too bad. Theres no smoke and when its running at idle there is no noise, its just like its firing on 3. From this he thinks that the block and pistons will most likely be ok and at worst the cylinder head will be damaged and need repaired or replaced. Wont know the damage for definate till its stripped but for the next few days I will be keeoing my fingers crossed as he reckons ive got lucky.

Also, if you are fitting cross-overs there is a convenient space behind the kick panel on the drivers side. Easier I found than trying to get em up under the dash. Unfortunately you can't use the left one on the vr coz they have fitted one of the computer units there. However, the space is available on both sides on a 16v. Don't know about the G60, you'll have to look.

The computer unit in this area is for the abs so if u have abs then its the right side only that will be available.

    Hi Jamie,

I use Donoldson motor company they are located off the express way in Glasgow just after the SECC (Very easy to get to by car) you may need a lift back into town. The guys name is Tam very honest and has saved me a few big bills in the past. He is a VW\Audi specialist and has a fwe mechanics work for him. Has a few C's on his books as well. Mines a G60 but I'm sure they will know there way around a VR6. So I would recommend him does all the work on my car except for servicing (trying very hard to keep service history for what it is worth). Not that far from livingston but not to close either. Here is the number give him a call 01413390077 and have a chat with him.

    Hope this helps

Ive got my car going in there for my engine probs tommorow, will let you all know what I think, the guy does seem decent enough.

Im in Clydebank which is only about 20 mins from there.

Joe M, Sounds like a dropped valve sorry to be the prophet of doom, not cheap :( :(

Mechanics just had a listen and reckons this is the case so its going to be taken apart. I dont really know what a dropped valve is though and have no idea what sort of damage it could cause. Can anyone enlighten me?

    Cheers

  9. Definately interested but I need to wait until ive had my mechanic to look at it. Was supposed to happen today but the Laguna piece of **** I got to tow it had knackered threads on the towing eye.

What sort of price would you be looking for and does the engine have any history, idea of mileage and has the supercharger had a recent rebuild?

  10. Ive done that before, it works but there are less features on the 16v. It was ages ago so I cant remember what they were but the instantaneous fuel consumption is there. Stick it on then cruise down a hill in nuetral and it reads 99.9mpg :D

  11. Gazza, is yours a Powerflow, ive heard the quality varies greatly depending on the fitter. If anyone else is going for a custom id try and get a look at a car that has already had an exaust fitted by the place before deciding if you want them to do it.

  12. Thats Roddy Kennedy I think, hes further North in Aberdeen.

It finishes different, I think the guys actually had it from new and it was the first Corrado I can remember seeing back when I was about 16 or something. It made me want one.

  13. Its strange, when im out in my C I never see any but yesterday I seen 2 when I was getting lifts, a green Storm on a private plate, A something and a black 1.8 16v G reg, both in Clydebank area.

Whats annoying is that the 16v's engine was very noisy and rattley wheras mine was silent before it went.

Did u try the ECU reset too hot?

  14. If it comes to the worst and I need a new engine im considering a g60, theres a few on PVW for about the 1500 mark with gearbox, wiring loom and driveshafts. Anyone got an idea how much fitting would be on something like that.

  15. There was a loud bang from my engine now when its idling it sounds like its firing on 2 cylinders and when I rev it there is a loud clattering noise. I also cant take it above 20mph as theres no power and now I aint using it at all. My mechanic is getting the car Monday but if anyone wants to hit me with horror stories of what it could be nows the time so I know what to expect.

  16. Sorry about the delay too hot, unfortunately my engine went bang this week so ive been occupied. The part number on my ISV is 048 133 455 and I havent been able to test it. Let me know if u want it or if u got the problem solved.
