Deleted Dom's post to stop him looking like a tit!

Hmmm... I first thought maybe the wire to the sensor had been replaced and that was the remains of the old one but it's not insulated the same... Does the ABS work ok?? just thought it maybe the plug for the pedal position sensor as that is on the same loom...
-
Yeah, uncle Vince has the kit but you can do it yourself... Just buy the plug, wire bungs and one repair wire from VAG (2 ended) - these wires just clip into the plug then solder / heatshrink.

Take a day off and go to Stealth, I wouldn't trust anyone else with a big service on a VR
-
One is exchange, not the X at the end of the part number... The T shaped bolt is a common part, N 900 534 01, found on the fische with the cambelt covers.
-
Dom - I assume you had the screw in on the Halfords one??? :D The 2 tonne one is now rounded so not so great for low cars but the 2.5 is fine for you...

Took the Rado for a drive. Got a small Problem :(
Supercharged replied to Kaktus's topic in Engine Bay
Kaktus - you have a 5.5 ltr system or 6 if aircon... VW say 2 bottles (1.5 ltr) at most fir 4 cly cars... -
Yeah - you need Passat rear mechs - also used on some audi's i think... Look for the 839 middle part number for compatibility - if it has a chilld lock you can chissel it off fairly easily.
-
Hmmm - Yeah GKN are OEM parts as i was looking at a driveshaft for the A4 Cab in the Rheine factory a couple of days ago.... 8) Probably just unlucky unless it's a case of the pattern market part not being the same quality as the ones that go the VAG...
-
You really need new ones as they distort very easily... VW always recommend when buying new discs - £10 and should be instock as it's a common mk4 part... Get Wheel bearings from VW too - the cheap jap ones GSF sell don't last at all...
-
What car is it??? The most likely thing is that they forgot to unplug the ECU and or forgot to re-attach the gearbox earth strap when it was off and have fried the ECU (I have a £550 reciept from VW in my G60 folder for the item above after MR Clutch did a great job of a clutch change!)
-
Change it asap as above - the front carriers are £150 each and the hub is about £70 - you risk wrecking them if you leave it.
-
FFS - The Mod team are getting fed up of PM's and New Threads being created about Jimmy, this is the 7th thread this year (!!!) Can people who are unhappy post in the 'Bad sellers' forum as thios is exactly what it is there for and this will also warn other people - other threads like this will get pruned. Locking this.
-
Dom - the halfords one's are fine, I just replaced my 10 year old one with a new one (not that there was anything wrong with it) How low is your car??? If not the halfords one I would go for the alloy MM one mate - cheaper than any other i've seen of that type...
-
..at least Darren actually takes them apart before he sprays them silver...
-
Yeah, could have vibrated loose - more likely tho that theu were not torque'd correctly last time they were off... Maybe worth sticking a blob of paint over them to the outside so you can visually check them easily
-
I hope so..... Jabba sticker says it all!
-
Repair Kit part number is 056 198 119 and will be much cheaper than buying belt and tensioner seperatly.
-
Only because Storms loose 99.9% of there value when you hit 100
-
They DO fit but you need the matching carriers too!!!
-
Speedflow (.co.uk) are also very good!
-
Knowing the Corrado they are probably slightly different... (but may still fit) Thing is it will need to be recharged etc so I reckon you are best getting some pro advice first and like I say they may have another firm that can make hoses, it's only plumbing at the end of the day!
-
Deffo - something is reaching it's adjustment limit...
