  1. Hi, hoping you can give me some help, never had a claim before, car got crashed into Oct 1 1995, 5 months+ ago. It went to approved repairers, i got it back 2 weeks ago. Alarm, indicators, hazard lights wernt working, went back, got it back last weekend, alarm not working still and water dispenser for windscreen is broken and theres an air noise coming from engine, misfire, stutter. . . I think they're incompetent as i had had to source parts for the car myself and surely it wasnt roadworthy when they first gave it me back, ive asked for it to be put in VW to be repaired. Getting told it has to go back to Approved repairers? Does anyone know any different??
  2. My car is getting repaired at the moment. I am being told that the master cylinder they order from the main dealer doesnt fit and that my car 95 reg Corrado VR6 storm has a specialist one for it. They have sent the master cylinder off the car to the people who made it to see if they have one. Can this really be true or is this a crap garage ??
  3. oo may have to let you know on that one, still argueing on the phone, they have only valued it at £4200 at the moment as a VR6 but if i can prove it is a Storm then they will repair it, will let you know. If it does still get wrote-off though i'll be in contact, the leather is in mint condition, no rips and no-one ever sits in the back of the car!
  4. green! looks black sometimes but looks green sometimes too, has all the badges and spec. I did buy it from Advent Volkswagen as a storm so fingers crossed, do you know anything about the chassis numbers though. Also do you have a number for VAGs head office.
  5. Hi, a drunk driver has crashed into my storm and wrote it off. The insurance are saying so far they will only pay me out for a VR6 as the car isnt listed with the DVLA as a VR6 storm. I bought the car from Volkswagen in 1999 as a Storm and have the sign-over paperwork from them saying aI bought a VR6 storm. Does anyone know how else i can prove it e.e Chassis number etc. . .
  6. Boo hoo. . . I know there are a lot of these abs problems and have tryed to read through some of them but i have replaced the speed sensor, some other sensor too and had a 2nd hand abs pump fitted but the light has still managed to come on today. I do need to replace the front and back l/h-side brake callipers and the cv boot, could this be why its still coming on?? Did read this a while ago regarding the 2nd hand abs pump "as long as the part number (this is on a sticker on the top of the cylindrical pump) is identical to that of your car's ABS pump" then it will work. Surely my vw mechanic would know this wouldnt he, cant ring him until later to find out.
  7. was thinking that myself when i was telling my dad about it. Cheers lads for all answering, cant wait to get it done. Hate washing it at the moment coz i get depressed looking at that ball mark on my door, looks much better dirty!!
  8. Went there yesterday and seen the cars he was doing that day, they looked ok to me, better than my non-prof spray job (as far as i could tell) and they are recommended by the company i work for. I just wasnt sure if the price was ok and dont wanna get ripped off because im a girl !!
  9. The drivers door on my corrado has a nice spinning football mark and a dint in it and unfortunatley, the passenger side got hit by a flying object on the motorway last year. This scrached from the front wing and also the whole side of the car and smashed my wing mirror to bits. :( So got the passenger side resprayed non-professional last year and got a new wing mirror off the auto-trader scrap-site links, but it looks pooh. I have been to get a quote for both sides of the corrado which was £250 but he said he'll do the bonnet and grill as well for £320. Is this a good price :?:
  10. Read this on the site: Listen for any noise from the timing chain. Slight noise (rattle) can be acceptable. The guides and tensioner can need replacing once mileage approaches 80k+. £200 for parts alone and it’s quite labour intensive as it can be worth doing the clutch whilst you’re at it. My Corrado VR6 Storm has done over 100k now and I have never had this replaced and I have noticed it sounds a bit like a taxi at the moment and has a squeak coming from the left hand side, is it likely to be the timing chain ??

    ABS light

The ABS light has been coming on whilst driving and doesn't turn off until you stop the engine and restart the car. It doesn't happen every time you drive it so shall I wait till it sticks on until I get it checked out at the garage??
  12. Its really not that bad but how about vw garage in Liverpool then !!!
  13. Can anyone recommend a garage in Oldham to take my Corrado to :-P
