New fuel pump sorted it. When it was under a quarter, the pump wasn't submerged and was overheating.

Hello all, Finally recently got my Corrado back on the road after 13 months off it, and have power problems when the tank is under 1/4 full. It's ok if accelerating gently but when the throttle is opened fully it is very lumpy, with surges then moments where it's actually decellerating despite sounding like the throttle is fully open. I've ran it for about 2 months hoping maybe it was just where the old petrol had gone off but I've run it right down and it's still the same, but is fine when over 1/4 tank. I also run Redex though at quite a high concentration but to no avail.... I took it to Deutsch Wagen in Cambridge today and they got 2 error codes, lamba sensor short circuit to earth and no signal from the engine speed sensor. It may be the reason, it may be coincidence, but the fact it's fine unless the petrol is under 1/4 tank would suggest it has nothing to do with these, but then I'm not an expert. Does anyone know possible reasons for this? I'm thinking I may have to pay Vince a visit a lot sooner than expected to get this done along with the cooling system after-run program problem discussed in another thread.... PS Does anyone have any experience of Deutsch Wagen in Cambridge? They did a good job on my sister's Golf, but that's my only experience with them....

Thanks all, turned out to be nothing, it's just the way it is!

Hi all, Went for a short spin in the car tonight and when parked I noticed the leather gearstick gaitor was a bit warm. I felt the sides and the Karmann badge which all seemed warm as well so I took the cover off and found it quite hot under there, to the point my finger couldn't touch it for very long otherwise it would become uncomfortable. The problem I have is I need to go approx 50 miles tomorrow for an interview, but am worried the gearbox is overheating. Am I just being paranoid? I can't remember if it's always like this!

What do people think about Tarox disks? I bought a pair second hand cheap to use when my current OEM's have had it, but they are grooved and drilled, I'm a bit worried about using them now!

Here you go

Here's a pic of mine (I'll post a better one later), it had been done by a previous owner and I've never bothered to get a non-colour coded replacement, I think from some angles it looks, good, others not so... it does take a battering but a touch up stick every now and then does the trick.

I'm interested in a 4 fuse & relay loom.

It could of been more serious, claim on his insurance, hopefully he'll take more care as a result and not do it to someone else where it could be.

what are your perfect wheels for a 'Rado and why? Disc

Does anyone know what these are? I thought they may be BBS RXs but they look slightly different... -
That MR2 looks mint after!

I'm back in the UK, and working again, but I haven't got the Corrado back on the road so haven't done anything towards solving this problem, although earlier today I decided it's time to get it back on the road after an 8 month period off the road! Should be around a months time it's back, and after it is I plan to take it to Stealth to take a look at the system, I've already spoken to Vince about it and he has a master plan to diagnose and fix. Need to get it MOT'd first though, for which the horn is needed, which currently doesn't work due to the horn fuse being one and the same as the after-run fuse. Bit wary about putting the fuse back in as last time the water temp got to a certain level there was a power surge before the fuse popped, at which point the aux pump stopped working, so may have to pull the fuse out on the sly during the MOT after the horn's been tested. I will post up what's wrong with the system currently when it's fixed, which hopefully shouldn't be too long :)

I was going to get it done after next payday, so no I haven't done this yet, I'll give them a ring, thanks! :)

Ah ok, this is most likely the difference between the types of repair the 2 companies listed above do. This may be a silly question, but could the hub be affected over time by a buckled wheel?
-
Thanks all, gave them both a ring today, http://www.wheelrefurbishing.co.uk said they can fix buckles, flat spots for around £26+VAT for a 16", and say it's safe as long as the wheel is complete and there are no cracks, which is good to hear. Only bad thing is I'm going to have to post or deliver the wheel myself, probably the latter after hearing Blue_Joe's courier experience :) Tried http://www.wickedwheels.co.uk as well but unfortunately the lady on the phone said they don't repair buckles, only scuffs, corrosion, kerbing etc.... Just did an RAC route plan using postcodes to wheelrefurbishing.com and the distance is 66.6 miles, was an omnious moment seeing that, maybe it's not a good idea after all :)
