  1. Just to let everyone know that there's a couple of buyers lined up for this on the forum. If you happen to be interested in it send me a PM and I'll get back to you if it's still available. Cheers, Matt
  2. I will consider posting within the UK if buyer covers the costs. I haven't checked the fees at the post office but a rough guide would be £30. I won't make a profit on the postage, whatever it costs I will inform the buyer and they can add it to the £150. I will give member larceny fink first refusal as he contacted me first. Cheers, Matt
  3. Hey J, It's the two box system. It sounds well. I think they're a fairly popular choice with a few members on here. Cheers, Matt
  4. Hey guys, I sold my Corrado on here yesterday but the lad who bought it didn't want the exhaust. I've just taken it off the car and posted a few pictures below. It came off a VR6. The exhaust was purchased new two years ago. The car has been off the road for the last year so the exhaust is in mint condition. Would prefer collection due to weight and size. I'm in Colne, East Lancashire. PM me with any queries. £150 SOLD Cheers, Matt
  5. SOLD I'm advertising the car on here first before I put it on ebay as I would like it to go to someone who could possibly breath life back into it! I'm selling the Corrado as spares or repair. The problem is electrical and after having a few people try to fix it, without success, I've decided to sell the car. Obviously I don't know the exact problem but I will be as honest as I can with any questions. The car has 127k on the clock. I purchased it in 2005. In 2010 I replaced the original engine (due to blue smoke) with a 2.8 VR6 that had covered 75k. At this time the fuel pump, radiator, suspension, brakes, brake pipes, exhaust and clutch were all upgraded or replaced. The car ran perfectly for a year but then a problem started with the car cutting out and losing all power. This problem became progressivley worse. I tried various solutions such as coil pack replacement, new plugs and leads, new ignition switch and new crank sensor but the problem still persisted. I also posted a thread on this forum to see if anyone had any ideas. My mechanic and auto electrician cannot trace the problem so the car is currently off the road SORN. The bodywork and interior are in good condition. There is a small amount of rust at the back of the car underneath the VR6 badge and one of the wings has some rust. The heater switches are not fully functional but apart from that I'm not aware of any other faults. It's been stood for a year and the tyres will need replacing, that's if anyone is thinking of getting the car back on the road. I obviously have all the paperwork with the car including service history and receipts for work undertaken. I have uploaded a couple of photos which were taken when we replaced the engine and one when the car was back on the road. I will upload some current photos when it stops bloody raining. I'm looking for £700 for the car or £550 without the stainless steel magnex exhaust. The original 2.9VR6 engine is also included in the sale. PM me if you need any further info. Cheers, Matt.
  6. Sorry it's taken so long to update this... I sent the coil pack back for testing as it was under warranty. It came back clear so my electrician checked all the wiring and he couldn't find anything so he thought the ecu could be at fault... This was tested, at a price, and no faults were reported... My mechanic wasn't convinced that the coil pack was right so I bought another second hand... Thankfully it worked and the car is now back on the road. I'm ****ed that the firm on ebay said they had tested the coil pack and it was working, obviously they weren't honest. My advice is don't buy anything like a coil pack from ebay. Initially it's cheaper but if anything goes wrong it's a nightmare!
  7. Thanks for your input chaps. I haven't replaced the relays yet. My mechanic isn't convinced that having a faulty relay would cause the speedo and rev counters to drop to zero... This happens but the engine still runs but with almost no power, sometimes it jumps back to life and other times it cuts out completley. If the new crank sensor doesn't work then I will get the relays tested when the car visits my auto electrician and i will get him to check the ISV as suggested by Fla. The problem was so bad today coming home from work that I've borrowed another car and taken the Corrado off the road as it's too dangerous to drive... Will update the thread as and when it's sorted.
  8. Changed the ignition switch a couple of days ago... That screw is a bugger to get out... But the problem still persists... Considering a match and some petrol to solve the problem! My mechanic thinks it might be the coil pack but this was replaced last winter so we're trying a new crank sensor on Monday, will post if it fixes the problem.
  9. I had the immobiliser disconnected before this problem started so I doubt that's the cause. Due to the fact that the speedo and rev dials hit zero I'm thinking it's either the ignition switch or battery cable. Will try and get it sorted this week. Cheers to all for pointing me in the right direction.
  10. Thanks. Will check that. Just reading a similar thread... A couple of relay switches are mentioned so it could be one of those that needs replacing.
  11. Hey guys, Yet another problem (most Corrado owners get used to it eh) with my VR6. For the past week or so the car has been cutting out completley once or twice a day. I'll be driving along normally and it just dies. The speedo and rev counters immediatley drop to zero and there's no throttle response. Sometimes I coast along for a few seconds and it comes back to life... Other times I have to pull over, turn off the ignition and wait a few seconds... Then it starts again. It's beginning to drive me mad. Of course when my mechanically minded friend drives it the car behaves! So I thought I'd post a topic on here and see if anyone has any ideas of what the problem maybe. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers, Matt
  12. Thanks for your help criticalmass.
  13. Looking at changing my wiper arms. From reading the thread I see that two drivers side TT arms have been used in the conversion. I can get my hands on the drivers side and passenger side arms from a TT but I'm guessing that the passenger side won't fit the Corrado as it's too long... Can anyone confirm before I purchase?
  14. Cheers for the reply Valerian, ''what do you know'' probably a lot more about this than I do! I know that the exhaust systems vary for each Corrado but not sure in what way or if the valver is compatible with VR. I'm just looking at a cheap fix really and for £50 I thought it was worth a gamble. If anyone else has any ideas...
  15. Ah Dr Mat once again your advice is much appreciated. The ebay listing mentioned something about bar fixings so maybe it will fit. I'm not too bothered about how it sounds or looks to be honest just as long as it's functional. Thanks again for your help.
  16. My origional back box seperated from the centre box this week and I came across this scorpion exhaust on ebay. The auction was about to end... The description of the item was vague to say the least, I asked seller a question but got no reply. I thought I may aswell bid £50 for it. Do any of you guys know which Corrado model this is designed for?

    Head unit ~

Thanks for the replys guys. Sorry I took so long to reply but my net connection went down just as i'd posted this topic! Most people seem to be keen on Alpine stuff. Double 6 - I was looking at your model in Halfords it's a pretty good deal but as I don't have an ipod yet I'm just goona buy the head unit frirst and then ad the adaptor when I get an ipod. JMC - If your between Egham and Virginia Water then you must be bloody close to me. I'll PM you and I'll come and have a look at your system.
  18. Looking for opinions on a new cd/mp3 head unit around the £200 mark. I'm considering the following units-: 1. Alpine CDA-9812RB. £193 at empire direct.co.uk 2. Kenwood KDC-W707. £170 at caraudiosecurity.com 3. Kenwood KDC W8531. £199 at caraudiosecurity.com 4. JVC KD-LH811. £150 at Halfords I've just upgraded the speakers (standard size front and rear) but Im thinking of amp and sub at a later date so need a unit with scope for upgrading. Also getting an ipod so must be able to run this. There's currently a Sony with 10 disc changer in my car, will there be lots of expensive adaptors and wiring needed? Will the Sony changer be compatible with the above? I don't really like ordering off the net but the prices are much cheaper than my local store (£150 less on the Kenwood!). Maybe you guys know of a cheap outlet near Windsor/Staines? A friend says don't buy a unit from Kenwood as they specialise in food processors! I've ruled out Sony because I'm not keen on the styling. Does anyone own the above units? if so any comments would be good. Any other suggestions much appreciated. Edited title to correct symbol, since none of those headunits are actually greater than £200 ;) --Andi
  19. I'm about to replace the front tyres (205, 45, 16's) on my VR as the tread on one of them is under 2mm and making driving slightly suicidal. I was wondering what you chaps run on your C's. Performance and durability are top priorities. I've heard good things about the Toyo Proxes and the Goodyear Eagle F1's but would welcome your views. I've been quoted around £180 for two of the above fitted through Blackcircles on the net. Does anyone know a better place to buy? Got rid of my noise at the front (No Walesy it wasn't a giant humming bird!)The front passenger brake was sticking on so had it freed, thanks for your help with that one lads.

    Scary noises...

Hmmm, lots of things to check then. Thanks for the suggestions.

    Scary noises...

Nicely. I know the pads are sweet so it's most likely a stone. Thanks for your help.

    Scary noises...

Cheers for the reply. It's related to road speed rather than acceleration. It sounds like it's coming from the front, sorry I can't be more specific.
  23. Evening all, I'm in need of some advice... My VR6 is making a strange noise on the move. The only thing I can compare it to is the sound of a rusty gate being open and closed, any ideas as to what it maybe?
  24. Ok Sam, once the pics are uploaded I'll check them out and I'll be in touch if I'm interested.
