Peakz started following Any Corrado racers? Need some advice please..., Rare part prices and Parecl shelf query
-
Location: Leicester Price: 50.00 GBP Date added to Classifieds: 15th Jan 2012 Description: Beige parcel shelf in excellent condition, spindles and rubber supports are perfect. I'm in Leicester not far from M1/J21, would prefer collection as it's quite large and I'd hate to have it damaged in transit. I need this gone so will accept sensible offers. £50 ONO

I think this specific part relates to the uber rare mkI RS's whose inner wings are different to the standard mkI's hence the strong price. Prices for sporting VAG cars, read Ur quattro's, SEAT SuperCopa's, Golf III Kit-car's will be similarly priced. The rarity of the Corrado may well see some NLA parts go up in value, maybe it's time to get out your rust-proofing of choice and start filling cavities and covering internal panels with it.

This link might go some way to helping you out with the basics http://obpltd.wordpress.com/2010/06/03/tech-session-race-car-geometry/ I've used Chris Franklin's services at Center Gravity for my trackday car, he also runs tech-talks from time to time - you learn a lot from that. http://www.centergravity.co.uk/contacts.cfm What race series will you be racing in? I think there's a Rado in the CSCC Future Classics or Deustch Marque so might be worth looking at when their first race is. Also the Autosport International show is on at the NEC from tomorrow (trade days Thu & Fri). Good luck!

Sounds good, just one more question . . . Just looking at the classifieds section it's padlocked, is this due to post-count? I no longer have a VAG car so it's doubtful I'll visit often :(

Sheesh that was quick, thanks Jim. I guess the next question is how much is a mint shelf in beige worth?
-
Hi folks, not been on here for absolutely ages and it looks so different now, pretty funky! Anyway, my friend has found a beige parcel shelf in his loft that's surplus to requirements but he's not sure which car it's from - it looks like a Rado shelf to me. The part number is KAST 535 867 771 (manufacture date 3/94) - could one of you kind souls check this out for me please?
-
Jim, thou tempt thy forum member with much naughtiness! How much would a set of 5x100 Speedy Comp2's cost then . . . ?
-
Speedline Comp 2's look just like the BBS Solitudes, very sexy on that black Rado. Incidently those that like the Speedline's as fitted to the Vento VR (NickVR6), OZ made a virtually identical wheel but I don't know the name of the wheel.

I remember I hired a 91 Golf Driver back then and it had a Panasonic pull-out stereo. What Alpine Juba you got then? They are gorgeous and very sought after, as you say it'd look great in your Rado dash.

I'd love a plug & play one for my mkIII Golf GTI (twin H1 headlamps) and would be happy to trial a kit too. Kudos for having a go :notworthy: Good luck with it Andy_VW :thumb right:

Yup you can get Solitudes on mkIII cabriolets and 6N Polo's in 4 x 100 PCD, they are 6J x 15" (may be 6.5J ?). Also the ones fitted to Golf Colour Concepts, Highlines and latterly the South African built 98 MY Golf GTI's were 5 x 100 PCD, 6.5J x15". Nice light wheel, a bit lighter than the BBS lattice type wheels found on post '96 MY VR6's and more importantly easier to clean too! There's a guy in Bedford breaking a few mkIII GTI's on eBay, I bought the better set of Solitudes off him for £50, Pristine are currently refurbishing them at a cost of £250 because they have to repair some kerb rash. You can probably get a decent set with minor corrosion for less than £150 with shabby tyres. Have a look on Autotrader for late model mkIII GTI's and you'll see what they look like.

Yes indeedy them's the buggers! Sorry I got the name wrong in my previous post, they're G-Force Profilers.

I get Cheesewires angle on this, for every mans hot tip there's a skanky tip waiting round the corner too. Firstly though get your geometry checked, I used to run what I thought to be a perfectly tuned chassis on a previous Vento. Vince at Stealth did his magic one day and thereafter she felt sublime, I suppose you could liken it to running a cheap set of tyres then moving onto something like Toyo's R888 track/road tyres. With regards T1-R's I rate them for grip in wet & dry conditions though my two sets got very noisy with miles. I've also run Goodrich G-Profilers on a remapped GT TDI and they were awesome in the wet and fine in the dry too. More recently I've tried Kumho KU15's and their replacement KU31's, both very good tyres in all conditions and extremely cheap too. Continental ContiSport's I had on a Bora were quite nice but they wore too quickly. Never personally had any experience of Goodyear's F1's but the Ventura was a good winter tyre when I used to run a few mkII GTI's. Just my two pence worth . . .

Mate bought a TomTom 910, not cheap at £350-ish from Dixons but it has a full Euro map on it's hard drive plus Bluetooth and it plays MP3's. TomTom's website has a comparison chart so you can choose what's best.

Sorry to hear that, still it gives you more time to research the car and all the tuning options . . . Best get yourself onto RS246 and Audi-Sport sites to get clued up, you might even find a nice S4 for sale there. I recently had a ride in an RS4 (B5), I can only liken it to a ride on a roller coaster - totally mental!
