  1. Cheers guys, dont get me wrong I mean I have enough money saved up to buy a TT but I dont want to waste it all on something which is that common, I want to save money up for my future etc, i think the deal I will make is. I will buy the car, but use it as a daily car leave it in my dads garage get insured on it for social only and let my dad drive it if he pays for the Tax. Insurance is about a grand as I crashed my Polo last year. But only tried elephant so far. No need for jokes about I wont be able to handlee the Corrado as I had a Golf GTi MK4 before that and did not get a scrape in that + I am really not planning to thrash this. Why would anyone want to drive fast in a car which looks so good. I have a few more questions for the guy but generally I think I am pretty positive about getting it. A few things I noticed the rear spoiler does not work on auto and the temperature/fan dials have been replaced with one from a passat so the setting are out. I agree purple-corrado-dude I really cant see past them, I maybe would have settled for a good G60 but I was amazed at how different they feel to drive. I will keep you all posted on the outcome, cheers guys.
  2. well to be honest after thinking about it, I might just bang it in my dads garage and use it in the summer. and drive my Polo diesel to work and back. I just cant believe how solid the car felt for its age, I suppose its just a sign of how well its been kept.
  3. Hi there I am going to buy a new Corrado very soon and I am just trying to find out as much information about it as possible. I know it’s a long shot but I know that some people Go onto other VW forums or have possible owned or know this Corrados history. The car I might buy is a VR6 - Registration is: M906NNA which I think looks like MADONNA I know the previous registered owner was in London. If anyone either knows the car or has any historical data, I would much appreciate it. I will of course get a HPI before I decide to buy the car anyway. The Trip: I went to Macclesfield from Leicester today and it took ages partly because of the bad whether but also because of my huge hang over from last night. Was a 4 hour round trip. The colour of the car is Grey/Blue and have never seen one in the flesh and thought that most pictures make the colour look a bit drab but when I actually saw it in the flesh I tought it looked really smart. When I got there It was absolutely pissing it down so I did not get a really close look at the paint work, but what I did see looked absolutely perfect and the imperfections in the body that he pointed out where tiny dings which I would have struggled to see without him pointing them out or polishing it. He told me both sides have had some paint work done. So I will take a closer look when/if I go to buy it, he said the paintwork was done to get rid of some scratches and its very hard to see. After the drive when he showed me the power and got to 90MPH in 3rd gear (Fantastic it just kept going) I was sold on the car. It felt solid, the interior was standard and mint the seats where firm and felt nicer than the ones in my old Golf MK4.When I drove it was far smoother than the G60 I went to see a while back and the ride felt very sporty and could not believe the smoothness of the gearchanges and the clutch for a car that was not that modern and had done over 90k After this I checked of my things to check list - (http://www.the-corrado.net/wiki/index.p ... _Checklist) The only 2 non standard things on the car where Clear side repeaters which I don’t understand why anyone would change, but they did not affect the overall appeal. The car has done 94K and I am sure I did a check which showed that the car has had 6 previous owners. And the guy selling it has only had it for a year and a half. I just don’t want to be sold a Nail as I don’t earn that much and would eventually have to use this as a daily car. Just looked on the Forum he has had recent problems with the clocks (Speedo stopped working) whilst trying to fix the auto rise on the spoiler (Still does not work) and has reset the ECU to basic settings. It also looks like he also had a problem with the drop links. I have not confirmed he has fixed all of these problem but I believe he has and will ask him when I next see him. I just wondering if anyone knows any history on this Car and/or can offer me any reason why I shouldn’t buy it as I really like it.
  4. I like the whine however I agree after about 5 minutes I would want to get public transport
  5. or just remove ya front number plate, nice and free!!! keep it in the car with some L shape brakets on and if you get pulled just say, "oh hi mr :lcop: , whats that, where is my front number plate, why officer its there look, it fell off earlier today, im just on my way home to attach it"!!!!  I like your way of thinking
  6. PMSL nice one I dont have a Corrado yet, I used to have a Gold GTi and now have a Polo 1.9CDL and the most embaressing thing I have ever done is crash the polo after taking my hey fever tablets. Thumbs up though as I crashed into a German girl over here on work experiance and we have been going out ever since. :0)
  7. Oh my god need help please I got caught in a traffic jam for 2 and a half hours yesterday some guy pulled up in a bus and said there is petrol leaking out my car. Check it and its being forced up and out the filler cap, any ideas much appreciated. Only got half a tank of fuel. Its also only when my engine is running. Please please help, very poor and need my car
  8. not a fan of these not sure why they have to be so curvey, cant be as bad as the old one which looked as thou the interior had been designded by a 4 year old with a compass. I am not a huge fan of most modern cars they just look like eggs on there sides, all care look the same nowadays, I would much rather have some old school fun.
  9. oh yeah really like the Corrado u have for sale mate, but when I drove one the other with 92k on the clock and had just had new clutch/ charger rebuild for £2800 I could not justify saving £600 quid for a car that has done over 160k. I really dont want a car with such high mileage to be honest.
  10. Hi there I have been offered a really shitty looking Corrado, however its dirt cheap. I am most worried about the no charger history. Can all chargers be rebuilt? Even when truly shagged? I would just rather get a Corrado and know its shagged and have an Idea how much I will have to pay on it rather than get one which is supposedly sound but its actually a nail. I might be able to get this 1 for £1600 and would like to take it to Jabba and spend about £1000 on it getting the engine tuned up, another £1500 for any other mechanical problems. I have not seen driven it yet but hope to some time this week, what’s the best way to see if the charger has gone? Will the car still drive? I know it’s a lame question but I am not sure if there is something in particular I should be looking for.
  11. i also really like these very cool looking cars, but sadly automatics.
  12. Hi there just wondering if there is a general time scale of problems for Corrados, I know what your all going to say. It depends how they have been treated and driven and where they have been kept etc But I am just a bit worried as I will be using my Corrado when I get it for commuting/social and every thing else, I think I will get some better insurance and cover so I get a hire car if mine decides to stop working , but I am interested in how many general problems people have with these cars when they get over the 100k mark. If people could give me a general idea of what kind of problems they have had, I would find it very interesting. Obviously this does not really affect people who have a second car as much as they always have some backup. Many thanks By the way guys, really enjoying this forum been reading posts all day and looking your motors. I think some of you should add more pictures in your personal profile tho :D And I wont let what ever you guys put deter me from buying one of these as my heart is set on getting one now. I am also interested more so in problems with the G60 or VR6 as these will be one of the versions I will get.
  13. Edit: Probably not suitable to view at work! http://www.bubbles-n-babes.com/ yeah dont think I will go after all
  14. I think that Scooby is pretty much the same as burbery, your gonna get out into a group when you drive it, your either a Chav or experiance a mid life crisis. Its sad that people do stereo-type so much but its human nature. I think a big difference for me is that a Corrado looks special and not special as in huge spoilers or gold wheels, but its a special shape and style. It does not need all the picnic benches and stickers for people to see that. I think its a shame that a Corrado wont ever beat a scooby, but at the end of the day theres so much more to cars than that. You can only drive 0-60 in 5 secs sometimes. I myseld have considered a scooby but if you take away the stickers, wheels, spoilers bodykit, its a family saloon that I would not be seen dead in. But each to there own. There the things that some people like, I know my girlfriend thinks the Corrado looks too square but thats one of the very things I like about it. Does anyone else think all newer cars are starting to look like eggs on there side, they have no shape to um.
