  1. hi, need some help fitting some JBL GTO6426e 6x4's into the rear speaker mounts on my corrado. I've been hacking away today on the mounts (opening them up a bit) cos the magnets a bit larger than stock ones. But I still can't get the damn things to fit in. Should I be screwing them directly onto the car mounts? or onto the original housings (with the grill casing)? or a different method? Would appreciate some help from someone (preferably if you've fitted JBL 6x4's before) cheers andy
  2. Yeah, thats exactly why i think i'll get someone approved to fit the alarm. If I wire the headlamps to the windscreen wipers or something (put a sensor in the wrong place), I probably wouldn't know what is damaged, and probably wouldn't get any backup either.
  3. No more available at this price unfortunately. There is a guy on e-bay that sells them pretty cheap sometimes £150 (or thereabouts) called nokia-bits2. I think you've got to really have it fitted by a G5 specialist though (another £150), then you've got someone to blame if it goes tits up! basically opened the box today, and just went.......arrrse. I really wouldn't trust myself with the wiring on this (and i've done my fair share).
  4. been offered £150 to fit, from a reputable G5 main dealer. does this sound too much? (he reckoned it was a whole days work)
  5. I've been offered a brand new clifford concept 650p G5 alarm by a friend for £100. Unfortunately this doesn't come with the free installation. Does anyone know a cheap decent place to get this fitted in the south of england? (cost etc.) near bournemouth. would anyone recommend fitting this myself? (how easy etc. problem for thatcham/insurance??) thx
  6. Thanks vr6storm, i'll check out MJ on monday.
  7. thanks for all your help guys, i've managed to locate a nice condition storm today, bloke has really spent a lot of money maintaining its condition/reconditioning/ brakes, full vw history etc. I'll post some pics up or something when i've got it ready. Its pretty much stock too, original solitudes, he's lowered it on fk coilovers (ride is very nice) virtually mint original paintwork, leather needs a bit of work. Does anyone know how much it costs to restore/refurbish front storm leather seats (white)? and where I can get it done? Is this an expensive proposition?
  8. Hello (New Guy) I'm looking at buying a late edition (storm) rado vr6 1995(N), and was wondering what the going rate for a good condition (100,000 mile or so) example would be worth. The prices for these cars seem to jump all over the place (i've been offered between £4000-£7000). The leather interior on two cars i've looked at seems quite worn for the age (is this normal??). Don't want to commit to any particular car until i'm positive of its worth. (is there a guide price for 100,000 mile 1995 storms?). Would really appreciate any advice I could get prior to purchase. Don't want to spend more than £4500 basically, I am a poor student. Thx
