My 1990 1.8 16V doesn't like starting. Only had it since late march so it could be the increasing wet and cold combined with street parking.Starter turns fine, occasionally starts immediately. When it does eventually start, it does so the moment I turn the key. Very occasionally as the starter is turning, the engine goes clunk and everything stops unitll I release the key and try again! Turning the alarm (Cat 1 Sigma) on and off again sometimes helps. Also very occasionally I can turn the key fully and nothing happens at all.
Wierd hey.
I've recently replaced the coil lead with a cool orange one from halfords (£2.50ish), as I was advised that this might help - it didn't.
Still think it is electrical tho.
Ideas?
Make sure you check your Earh lead first.. before you start replacing anything.

we can do you a wiring loom mate mail order if you want? but make shure this is the problem first? mind you the uprated loom will make the headlights alot better than they are on all std corrados.did you think anymore about selling your grill ?
let you know next week(GRILL)!! as you know i am on my way to essen...
i will call you about wiring loom once i have done few checks ..
thanks

Do you have high wattage bulbs fitted? If so then it is advisable to fit an uprated wiring loom.If not, then check the wiring, fuses, etc. The switch runs a little hot anyway, but if have replaced 2 switches then something is wrong.
thanks Jon as far as i am concern i have standerd bulbs.
who sells uprated wiring loom in UK ??
