  1. Mine broke there too , the square end is crimped onto the end of the selector rod and ends up braking through time , i managed to braze the end back onto the rod till i replaced it , and got another mint one from the scrappers . When i replaced it i went to snap the end off the brazed one it was solid so it prob would have done . To replace it its a bit of an ass , you have to drop the front part of the exhauste down and remove the heat / sound proofing from the tunnel , disconnect the other linkage , remove the circlips holding the cables through the bracket on the gearbox , take the gearknob / trim off, then you have to drop the gear lever box out of the tunnel along with the cables and replace the cable . Apparently the stealers have modded the end of the cable to prevent this happening . Hope this helps

  2. My mate took a Leon Cupra R out for a test drive but wasn't inpressed , he was lookin to trade his golf v6 4motion in on one and said the torque steers was stupid and the build quality wasn,t as good as the golf . The S4 avant would have been spot on for me but im not payin them prices for insurance .

  3. I was looking at an audi S4 for about £12,000 but i got an insurance quote of £3,500 fc  , so i got a quote for an audi S3 which was a better £1,600 fc .Then i looked round an audi A2 and was thinking a nice set of 19" wheels under the arches , few slight mods . It will defo have to be vw / audi or bmw .

  4. Have a look at the back of the engine and there is two water pipes going into the bulk-head , disconnect both of these and join them together . This is what it is like on the 16v and should be the same for all corrado's . Hope this helps .

  5. There should be a screw in each of the top corners , the plastic that they go into cracks and breaks away , hence loose and sticks out .

Just pull the plastic panel away from the boot slightly , squirt some sikaflex in there , hold it into position with maskin tape till set , hey presto !!

  6. The vacume pipe on mine goes to the back of the dash ( speedo clocks ) , i think this is the sensor , when the car is at idle can you hear an air leak from behind the dash ? if so the pipe may have come off . im not sure where the other end goes to , somewhere on the inlet side so have a listen for any air leaks at the back of the engine .
