  2. Raceweight ercos, gotta watch for potholes then eh. Was gonna get myself a set of street weight ones a while back and may still do but need to get the corrado in shape first. Would love a race but firstly i need a new gearbox then i have to bolt on all the bits i have lying around the garage such as ratio rockers, starter motor, dynamo, new exhaust, then need to clear out all the unecessary stuff from the car from some free horsepower and et the engine set up then i may be in with a chance. (anyone got a few grand lying about they dont want) by the way are you running an open stinger on the street. Do you get any probs from the cops. What engine you got just now? Eliot
  3. Black 66, couple of good looking cars you have there :D , what wheels you running on the bug ercos, centerlines, what width are the fronts, or is it a narrowed beam. Also how much have ou lowered the VR by i have just ordered a kit which is 40 mm just wondering if it will sit at a similar height.

  9. Sorry didnt mean to sound so abrupt, just the way i read the posts people where wanting to know how to make your own as there was mention of plans, didnt read the whole thing daves16v look pretty good, didnt mean anything towards what you where doing.
  10. :? Whats so difficult about making a heat shield. Get down to you local metal place, buy a bit of alloy sheet about 2mm approx 16" x 24" (you had better measure). Then start with a bit of rigid cardboard to make a template and mock it up transfer it to the metal and cut it out. Then get down to you local scrappies and nab the boot seal of an old bmw E30 or similar and put it round the edge of the metal and bobs your uncle. One heat shield for about £20. Do you wanna see pics of mine?
  11. Jenks where in Edinburgh do you stay, what model and colour you got, will keep my eyes peeled for you.
  12. Dont like it meself but gotta admit it looks finished well apart from the colour match of the grill
  13. Oh and think it was naturally asspirated with about 225hp no fancy engine transplants just good old aircooled.
  14. cheers! the parts below were in a mk2 golf. managed a 13.75 1/4 mile, with a 2.034 60' time (that equates to around a 5.5 0-60). managed to get 132.35mph out of it, but that wasn't flat out (officially recorded by south yorkshire police!) should be a bit slower in a heavy corrado, but race seats, carbn bonnet and the direct port nitrous should sort that out. if it won't run 12's I'm selling it an buying a skyline, f*ck it. Sod the skyline, get yourself the convertible beetle in this months volksworld, full bodied nothing fancy looking on a set of porsche gas burners, and pulled of a 10.88 @ 125mph  now i would like to see that piss over something that is snorting and whooshing in the lane next to you. imo

    Dubfreeze

Yup should be going, will have to do it in one day from Edinburgh 8) . Gotta get a new starter and alternator. Think it was changed from Bugfreeze to Dubfreeze because volkswagen registered the name bug and decided they would sue anyone who uses it. Hence Dub.

  17. We did when we installed the machine, cause it hadnt dried fully after all the bleach there was a brown line on the wall behind it.  :D
  18. rofl Kev, dunno how your mind works, you's is weird   I am indeed a fruitcake.... 8) The Corrado rear seats are nice and low and bucket shaped, very appealing for a tramp looking for an unlocked car to deposit a stool into ! I have first hand experience of this, (not by myself) but used to work for a Gym equipment supplier, doing servicing and repairs and stuff a few years ago, whilst at uni. Any was going to a job in inverness so had to pick up the van from work (7.5 tonner) which had a powerjog running machine in the back. Could not lock the thing so backed it up against the wall. So opens up the back to throw my toolbox in and thought there where some wet tights lying on the running belt, on closer inspection, it turned out to be some chocolate mr whippy probably left by some of the gypos who constantly set up camp in the industrial estate. That place was always getting broken into cause they thought it would be full of trainers and stuff but then realise they cant move any of the equipment. So leave us a present instead. :x Quite amusing trying to tell the poilce about it though, but had to don the rubber gloves and everything else rubber i could find to dipose of the evidence. :pukeleft: Felt dirty for weeks.

    Corrado VR6 MPG ?

I live in Edinburgh, and bought my VR down in Luton then drove back in it, must be approx 400 miles, and got back to Edinburgh on 3/4 tank, (incredible I thought) but was driving like a pussy all the way up at about 60mph  cause it was chucking it down and was through the night.
  22. Hmm seems a bit odd, Group D but live at my folks place and is one of the most desirable places in Edinburgh. Insurance renewed 7 days ago, 27 years old 95 M VR6, Postgrad student, £435 full comp protected, with Belldirect.
  23. I would just use black smoothrite, but DO NOT paint the face of the disc which the wheel mounts to, the paint may become soft when brakes are used and wheel will then become loose. Tip is to slowly spin the disc whilst holding the brush next to the bit you are painting, the finish will then be like glass (if you know what i mean). Used this on my 69 bug, granted only for show use but has been on for three years now. :)
