  1. you need to change the water flange, thats the plastic bit the hoses and sensors sit in, order a new one from VW (only a few quid) you'll get a new seal for the block and new seal and clips for the sensors too (may as well put new sensors in too). Also change the one on the right hand side of the block too. easy job. Remember to refill you system with the correct mix of g12+.

BTW the new flanges are ver slightly different from the originals, they has three sensor holes in, but they still fit okay

  2.

G60 Jet - What is the lock like in traffic? I have been considering a set of harnesses for track days but can't stand not being able to lean forwards to check for traffic at junctions and these sound like the ideal solution

Its on an Autolock system that lets you move around like a normal seat belt but as soon as you boot it or brake it looks right up, there is a recoil system mounted in on the C pilar that is controled electronically.

  3. The one in Hinckley (my hometown) is actually in Burbage. Don't know what they are like though but IIRC they are (or were) more of an aircooled specialist.

What about C&R - in Nottingham?

The one i was thinking about is on the A5 industrial estate going towards the M69 from dodwells brigde. is that burbage or stinkley?

Where in hinckley do you live im over Mkt Bosworth This weeked :D

  4. I'm guessing you have got a flange problem, the plastic flanges that attach to the block that then connect to the water hoses can leak, they are cheap to replace, but it means new coolant.

can be done for less than £30 yourself useing OEM parts and a bottle or two of G12+ coolant from VW depending on where you live. I always buy two bottles of coolant and mix in a large clean container with distilled water (cleaner water than tap water). I use 3 parts water 1 part G12 because i live in spain and it doesn't get to cold here

  5. I've got a Schroth ASM II its great, its a 3 point harness with a 4 point fit if you like

it has two sholder harnesses that are sown together behind you and all buckes up at the front. It has an auto lock switch that locks as soon as you boot it or brake, its great. BEWARE they come in Left Hand and Right hand versions

  6. Thats what happens when you leave your windows open in you car all day, and you live 50 meters from the beach. It vacs off easy. I normally polish the TT pedals every two months or so, but leave them alone in the summer cos of the dust.

My old mats are dirty and the drivers one is worn through, since the rears dont get used im getting the the spare rears sown on to the old front mats to make heal pads, so i have two sets of front mats then
