Anyone suffering from faded tinted lamps needs to read or re read the wiki, i'd followed it religiously with multiple coats of red tint (7-8) and a good few coats of laquer (3) and i've had no bother with them fading and they've been on for a 3-4 months. Cars been washed multiple times and sits outside in the sunlight all day. They look as good as the day i fitted them. With regards green bulbs, i've never tried them but i can imagine that they would be seriously dim. I too have gone down the LED bulb and resistor route and i'm really impressed with the results. Tis all about getting some bulbs with LED's all over them apposed to ones which has LED's all facing forward, spreads the light much better inside the lamp. Perfectly visible day and night, and a nice quick on/off flash as well. Hope this helps.

Hey guys, I'm after some advice / help / similar issues stories regarding a wierd clutch related problem on my '95 VR6. I've had the following issue ever since buying the car but its getting gradually worse. The problem centres around my clutch pedal, initially it was in the form of the common 'clutch pedal stays down' issue which was resolved by changing the slave cylinder and also hydraulic hose (was buldged all over). Having recently also changed the clutch everything felt good again. Originally i could tell when the clutch pedal was about to do its 'stay down' routine as it started to feel less and less solid and you'd get this 'multi-pedal movement' feeling through the clutch pedal. Sure enough next time i get in to drive the pedal would be down. Any way having changed the above, the clutch pedal hasn't stayed down once, so as far as i'm concerned this is sorted. The only thing is i'm still experiencing the 'multi-pedal movement' feeling on using the clutch. We've bleed the system a good three times since changing the clutch, twice by hand and once via a pressured clutch bleeder at my bro's garage which after doing this it felt all good again. Does it need to be bled in more than one place? After a good few days commuting back comes the problem. Its a really wierd feeling which i can only describe as when you bring the clutch pedal back up and engage the new gear it feels like some one else has jumped on the brake slightly and the accelerater a little also. My guess from reading other threads is the master cylinder is the cause of this issue, letting air into the system but i just wanted to hear from others before i splash out on a new part. Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Stu (Apologies for essay.)

Hey, haven't mounted it in yet but have some webbing straps and some mounting eyes to be screwed to the back seats to loop the webbing through. Straps round the tube and tighten them up. Still yet to do this but seems simple enough. Will get some more pics up when i've sorted it.

Posted this up in my members thread but thought people who use the ice forum section may find this interesting. Ever wanted some bass in your rado but didn't wanna a) loose all your boot and or b) don't wanna shell out massive money on audioscape boxes etc... Well managed to create this little bad boy for around 20 - 30 squids: What you'll need includes: 1) old nackered bass tube (ebay or audio forums or mag classifieds) - free 2) new / used sub (again ebay or audio forums or mag classifieds) - mine cost a tenner of the bay 3) some mdf - had to by sheet from homebase - £10 4) some carpet - had some from old install 5) some glue - £5 from maplins 6) terminal block - £5 from ebay Create some new front pieces out of sheet mdf: Do same for both ends and carpet: End hole for terminal block in one end and sub in the other: Then get it in your boot. Could be run off a bridge rear speaker channels with a filter from headunit but ideally off a small amp. Jobs a good 'un. More pics in my members thread.

All the above was accomplished after a late night Samco fitting session over at Josh's. Anybody for a bit of 'jungle-early morning-ramp'd-VR+samcos.jpg' ? -

Weekends work: Bass in the place raddo... Courtesy of another forum user 'mariojoshi' and an unfortunate basstube blowout, I took up the challenge of rebuilding it as it sat so nicely in his VR boot, coupled with the fact he'd got a new box. All for reusing stuff apposed to throwing it away, so after picking up the following from various sources (ebay, homebase etc) i got cracking this weekend. 1. Basstube - check 2. Subwoofer - check 3. Amp - check 4. Amp wiring kit - check 5. 18mm mdf sheet - check 6. Terminal block - check 7. Box carpet - check 8. Spray glue / wood glue - check 9. garage with random useful stuff for building box - check Started by making some new end pieces for the tube as original's had been ditched ( :cuckoo: - josh?) only messing my fault for not taking them first time. Tried for size, bit of fettling and we were there. Same again for the back, with a hole for a terminal block plus some carpet. Have hidden the screws by part carpetting, part fitting then carry on carpetting. Think it worked quite well personally, quite fiddly tho and time consuming. Have done a fair bit of audio work before so knew what i was up against. Shows you the original tube. Back end all tidyied up and carpetted, really pleased with the finish and carpet i had matches quite well. And here's the finished product, mega bargain blaupunkt sub picked up off ebay along with an amp wiring kit. All bolted up and sealed and front end carpetted like rear. Really liked the finished look, looks almost like i meant to go together like this. May invest in a sub cover of some kind from maplins just for safety but for now should be fine. Ran out of time yesterday and gave up on wiring it up. Amp i had planned for it was not playing ball so called it a day. Busy one with emergency MOT in the morning. Gunna wire it up and try it out when i get back from Hungary later in the week but overally very chuffed considering this has been a budget addition to the VR. Couple of final shots for all you click for pics, walked out wickes last week and thought 'damn thats looking good': and had to say  to the santana GX5 i part own last week, been a fun year using it as a show cruiser by running the VR is more expensive that a Polo GT so had to go: That is all. Enjoy. Thanks to: Josh (Mariojoshi) for basstube amongst other things, Matthew (Brother) for organising last minute MOT @ work for me. -

Haha, i am fortuante for defo, helps mates out tho as we have the space. I think my bro's the one with guts, i just make sure i remember where everything came from. bolts, nuts etc.. Defo during the middle point i thought what have we done to my VR, so many bits everywhere but got there in the end. Fitted with a bit of jiggery-pokery, had to stretch the gaitor over a plastic insert, bought a spare gaitor housing for it. Then the gearnob shaft nicely slide over existing rod... :camp: and nipped up with a pair of clamp pliers and its firm as. So relatively easy, not direct fit tho. But i'm mega happy with it, looks so OE in place and matches wheel nicely. Looks mint indeed and drives amazingly better, i'd go as far as saying more comfortable than before, standard shocks/springs were so crashy i hated it. All round mega happy, effort was worth it. -

Right, time for a serious update guys and girls. Been a busy month or so. Managed to get the mods rolling along nicely with some more maintenance to boot (it). Had a full week off work at the end of June and we (myself and helpful bro) set about 'the transformation' as i like to call it. I'll let the pics do the talking. Part 1 - Waterpump, Aux Belt and Coolant change. Nice little parts order from VAG set us up well. So glad we changed the 'snakey' belt, as you can see it had some nice chunks missing, revealing the belt inners. Not to sure how long that would have lasted before letting me down. Add in the fact a friends MK3 VR broke down the other day due to a snapped belt i felt safe in the knowledge this was being replaced. :) Waterpump finally out, relatively straight forward with only one minor heart in the mouth moment when one of the pump bolts started rounding off. New bolts had been bought tho which would have been a serious life saver had the bolt sheared. I couldn't quite believe how much abuse the actually pump took before finally freeing from the block. Being an exchange item, i was hoping they wouldn't check it to find chucks of the casing missing. Oops?!?!? New Vs Old, thankfully all blades in tact on the old one but one crunchy, werring bearing so another part caught before failure. Drain, coolant, drain! All back together with bolts torqued up. Kinda wish i'd got me one of the Gruvenparts pulley's now. Oh well. :( Belt back on and tensioned, coolant replaced and ready for a quick bonnet less test run. :norty: Part 2 - Clutch, main oil seal and Coilies - yeah! Some would argue that we were a little mad for attempting this without a lot of prep but i had faith in my bro's ability being a almost fully qualified SAAB tech so we thought hey, whats the worst that can happen. Famous last words any one? So this happened: and a few hours later we'd acheived this nice little parts whoring stash. My want to take photos demished once we'd got into the tricky stuff and so there's probably a few missing in here but i certainly found the desire to take one when this little bad boy was free. Old clutch was well and truly fooked, i'm surprised it had been performing as well as it had with only minor slippage at the top end considering i was almost down to the rivets. Nice shiny new LUK clutch. £75 nicker at the mo of ECP online, which i thought was a bit of a bargain considering i'd paid £110 for a sach Polo GT clutch a year or so from them. Main oil seal was next on the hit list as it was clear as more things came off, that is was the bigger source of my oil leak. Chains were sounding pretty damn quiet since i've had it. On closer inspection they seemed fine so they were left for now. This has to be the shot whole 'transformation' for me, really felt like we were 'parting out' the car apposed to fixing it before the box came out. So many bolts and so much to contend with. I really felt at times we'd bitten off more than we could chew. Anybody for parts? Once the seal had been fitted, the box was back on (never known a box to just pop on like it did, so happy!) and subframes and drive shafts were re attached if was time for the fun stuff. Anti 4x4 stance here we come.   Oooo yeah, no bonnet, rake stance ftw, if only we could legally drive it like that... :norty: ... :hitler: ... Dreaded arch gap considerably decreased. And the final product, well partial final product. More exterior mods pics to come. All in all, it was the worth 3+ day effort, new clutch is awesome in everyway, coilovers have improved the ride no end. I'd even go as far as saying its rides better than standard imo. Almost like buying a new car. Chuffed to bits. I'll wack up some more pics of the exterior mods i did on the thursday but for now i'll let the 'click for pics lot' enjoy. Stu -

Thats wcked. Think i'll be making a purchase on that . Did you have to pay any import duties? -
Yes mate I have, and you've commented in it. Completely understand the slow progress, i've been battling maintenance vs modding for a months now. Finally turning the corner. Aero wipers are a must, red rears have to be done, amber is just so mid 90's. German plates ftw. Just colour coded my rear badges at the weekend and they look so fly. Well chuffed with the outcome. Got some left over paint if you want any small items doing. Probably gunna get some more to do the reiger grill.

Dude, looks like we starting from an almost identical base. Look forward to see where you take this. Can't beat a bit of Aqua Blue, colour really does look good after a polish.

Some tips on keeping a convoy together
StueyB replied to dinkus's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Refreshing to read guys. If only this had been digested by the Milton Keynes boys on the way to UD this year. That was single handedly the worst convoy i've ever been in and likely to ever be part of. Looking forward to being part of a raddo forum convoy sometime soon. -

Quote shocked me too. Mines around a grand without price comparison work yet. Sounds like the perfect forum 2 me. A refreshing change from the state of Clubpolo these days, but don't tell that lot. More younger owners on here than i thought. Or maybe its me wishing i was 18 again. Cheers for the warm welcome. -

22 - not bad bet your insurance is nice. Think all the other raddo owners i've met so far have been a lot older than me. I'm also fortunate to have a SAAB technician for a brother (pictured above). Was originally leaking quite bad from the sump gasket, replacing this then caused it to leak from the next weakest point which was the filter housing but a little sealant and a retighten of an affending bolt has now stopped it completely. Certainly a great piece of mind job. Recommened. Genuine sump gasket was around 38 inc VAT from VAG. Heyhey a local. I've seen a few floating around, been flashed by one on the way out of Flitwick a few months back. Met Nigel in Leagrave (Mulberry Purple VR on Carmonas = lush) and my mate Josh is in St Albans regions but thats about it. Let me know if your in the area any time mate. Paint was pretty dead when i got it, still needs a good detail but a quick polish bought it up nice. Thanks. -
Hey guys/girls, Been lerking around the forum for a number of months now since I bought myself a 'C'. Thought I was well overdue for posting some pics. I'll start things off with the old motor, some may have seen it about: Came from the Polo Camp previous so was a quite an upgrade to a VR as you can imagine. The upgrade came in the form of a 1995 Aqua Blue VR... Three previous murders, 109k when i bought it. Full VAG service history up til last, spent most of its life near Milton Keynes only for the last owner to take it to Wales. (Guess where i live? yep Milton Keynes way.) Took around 1100 miles of traveling to view 7 corrado's across four days including 2 x 400 mile roundtrips to view and eventually pick up the above example but was definitely worth it. No major noticable changes yet but a lot of maintenance carried out behind the scenes and a couple a trick interior bits. Did oil, filter and sump gasket change when i first bought it, cured minor oil leak immediately.....yey! Then came new throttle body elbow and oil breather pipe, camshaft sensor, clutch slave cylinder, clutch cylinder pipe and main dash surround which have tidy'd up the previous owner issues (VAG Parts naturally). Grooved black diamond discs and ebc greenstuff pads upfront to see off questionable brakes (graunching noises are not good with all that grunt). Full set of 205/50/15 Toyo T1-R's have been ordered today to replace grey old worn out rubber. As far as the interior goes, the 280mm wheel has been complimented by a new Audi gearknob, brushed alloy shaft and gaitor grafted into the existing surround. Along with some bling door pins and heater control rings to finish things off. That about brings me up to present. Been enjoying the driving experience since Dec '07 despite the under estimated running costs. Hope you enjoyed the read and keep an eye out for updates as i have big plans. Oh and it can be done, even at the young age of 24 - you just have to be gentle.

Hi guys, Pretty new round these parts but starting to use the forum a lot more since getting a VR. I'm trying to find a fairly high-res pic of an aqua blue C on bbs solitudes for some virtually choppery. Was wondering if anyone could help? Thanks, Stu

Having a few issues with the Raddo VR over the last week, was planning to pop down to No-rice 2nite and was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to bring their laptop / vag-com lead down. Cars got a slight miss fire, seems to be over fueling and is very very hesitant from cold start. Can anybody help? Sure i can sort them a BK for their troubles. Stu
