  1. BMC INDUCTION KIT for audi tt 225 or s3 - but will fit many other due to the flange that allows direct fitment onto vag maf.

in mint condition - never used bracket around it to hold in engine bay as it was an eye sore nor was it needed. as a result it doesnt have the scrape marks across the body that you would usually find on a used kit.

include a small price of cold air feed that will mate upto the original vag cold air feed to allow oem fitment.

    looks great, sounds great.

    PRICE - £150

  2. flat bottom steering from an audi r8

    multifunction buttons on either side

has dsg pedals (do not have to be used)

air bag cover included but no airbag inside

black leather/black stitching with brushed aluminium trim + ring + badge ...in my opinion the best colour combination available for this steering

  3. this is ideal for anyone trying to achieve big power on a forced induction vr6 or even for someone after closer ratios for the n/a for a better sprint based car.

    includes:

6spd 02m drp gearbox - already has a 6cylinder bell housing to mate up directly to a vr6 12/24v engine. the drp based boxes are known to be the strongest of the choices

6spd gear shifter with all linkages

c2 motorsport 02m gearbox mount to negate the need for chassis leg based mounts allowing fitment in vehicles such as golf mk2/mk3/corrado etc

vr6 front subframe with wishbones which has had the gearbox cup relocated to allow use of the c2 motorsport mount for drive axel clearence.

everything is in full working order and a little bit oily/mechanical dirt. i was planning on having everything freshly powdercoated before putting this up for sale but realised it would only add to the sale price. As it is you have the choice to either leave it functional and dirty or paint/powdercoat/anodise/polish in what every colour scheme you wish.

this set up does not include any driveshafts as you have a few choices depending on your intentions for this:

    - if going 4wd you will need custom length driveshafts

    - if keeping it fwd you have 2 choices again:

    1. use the 02m transfer box to help create driveshafts of equal length to aid with torque steer issues or maybe in anticipation of a 4wd conversion.

    2. remove the dead weight of transferbox and keep it fwd. here a stock skoda drive shaft + a custom driveshaft can be used.

all custom driveshafts can be made to a higher spec than standard from a range of fabricators or a cheaper option is to shorten and balance your original driveshafts from an experienced engineer (if you require help i can pass you some contact details)

  4. yes meant front grill

thats a shame about the dead production

spoonfed tuning one is nice but i think i prefere it with the badge. ...its all about the rear extended spoiler with spoonfed though ;)

any clues as to what these early grills go for second hand then as you recently sold one? ...can pm if thats a better idea

  5. 02m 6spd manual gearbox

    from a v6 4motion

gearbox code DRP - this is the desirable one when building a high power v6 car due to being able to withstand higher torque (generally stronger than the r32 gearbox)

was used for moc up and has not been used or tested by my self as i have another gearbox that is being rebuilt with lsd and different gear ratios for final use

    15" x 7

    5x98 stud pattern

I bought these with the intention of refurbishing and fitting some slick/semi slick tyres on for one of my projects but plans have changed and i would benefit more from the space now. I was going to use wobble bolts to achieve 5x100 fitment so they would fit vag range cars.

I have cleaned one wheel for prospective buyers to see how well they clean up and to be honest they have come up better than I expected...they look quite good and could easily be left as they are ....ideal circumstances would mean a refurb

  9. ok just to confirm then; ngk's website recommend bkr5eku for the vr6 - twin electrode

    http://www.ngkpartfinder.co.uk/car_commercial_search.php?type=SPARK%2520PLUGS&manufact=VOLKSWAGEN&model=GOLF%2520MK3%2520%252891--%253E98%2529&engine=2.8

    http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/pages/database/plug-detail-ccp.asp?partno=BKR5EKU

but this forum most users often talk about the ngk bkr5e - which is only single electrode

    http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/pages/database/plug-detail-ccp.asp?partno=BKR5E

and by using the search and going through some old posts which lead me to some links on where to by these plugs from, another varient was recommended which is ngk bkr5e II (which i do not understand what the significant diference here is to the bkr5e)

    http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/pages/database/plug-detail-ccp.asp?partno=BKR5E-11

...can someone please give the definitive answer and please explain the rationale behind it

from what i can deduce it seems as though the twin electrode (ngk bkr5eku) is the plug of choice. That then lead me straight to another dilemma ...plug gapping.

After many hours of reading i came across this interesting thread:

    http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?1458763

it basically concludes the plug is pre-gaped and measuring the gap distances requires a slightly unconventional method

  10. anyone tried the borg warner match bot for the vr6 yet?

  11. 15psi and above is where things get interesting with a GT35 on the VR6 and they'll manage a good ~30psi before hitting the choke line....with a .82 back housing. Might touch 40psi with a T4 1.06 housing.

20psi on my spec engine I would guesstimate around the 500hp mark. When Vince maps 35s on stock VR6s, he's seen 430hp from 15psi.....

Yeah I reckon with an 02M, 20psi as a daily is more than feasible. I might actually have a crack at getting the 02M in with the 24V engine.

Don't know anything about NOS, sorry. I hear good things from a couple of mappers about the 24V's intake VVT greatly improving spool up response etc....

The exhaust VVT on the BDE and R32 motors does nothing. It's only fully on or fully off and doesn't affect power. The intake is infinitely variable from -25 to +25 degrees, so you can do quite a lot with that, hence why the AUE 2.8 is the motor of choice for boost, imo, of course :D

    thanx for the detailed reply

If you are serious about the 02m conversion drop me a pm as i have all the parts required and a few spares, but will be using very little of them as i have ditched the fwd set up and am now building a mk2 with full 02m haldex 4wd. Progress is slow with other commitments in the way but its getting there.

do the 2.8 24v engine use the same pistons and rods as the 2.8 12v? ...or is the top face design different on the pistons to accommodate the redesigned head?

  12. What psi is the gt35 .82 efficiency zone really in when matted to a vr6?

The reason i ask this is i was under the impression its somewhere near the 20psi mark ...which makes me wonder what kind of power could be unleashed if for example Kev you turned up the boost a bit more

...i can realistically see why you may be holding back as its a daily and the reliability is needed...but lets say you addressed the main issues: strengthened the gearbox to 02m spec and all appropriate mods ...and also had h beam rods (im unsure if yours does or not) ...i wonder what could be achieved

btw does anyone have any experience with using slightly larger framed turbos on a VR ...something along the lines of a t04z with a 0.70 a/r

...the obvious issue seems to be lag but the right a/r turbine side may just help solve this ...hence the 0.70

...and what if nos was used pre-boost to help get reduce onset of boost and reduce spool time once in boost?

These are just some thoughts that i've been wanting some input on

  13. kev can you please elaborate on the dbw set up a bit more

what was needed to get this running and what are the costs involved

i am seriously interested as this could be the solution to a problem i am trying to counter atm

also are there any down falls? ...as from personal experience i have preferred the direct-ness of a throttle cable vs the slight hesitation sometimes associated with dbw

i was also thinking with dbw set up could it be possible to run like a "sport mode" ... a bit like e46 m3s where this reconfigures the throttle pedal to only ~75% travel or so when you have the pedal only 3/4ths the way down its still full throttle

also im guessing this would be a good opportunity to potentially use a larger r32 throttle body?

  14. my car sits quite low and i keep grinding out and mis-shaping the sump nut

i have heard of people using slim lines versions from other vag models such as a polo 9n3 but don't know the exact details

can someone please point me in the right direction

as reference apparently these do fit and are of the type of design that would be usefull. The only issue is the thread isn't as long as the original sump nut thread which could be a slight issue.

  15. hmm interesting what you say about the toyos ...i cant fault them in the dry - loads of grip and loads of feedback

but on the other hand i never push the vr in the wet (as the tyres are stretched so i don't see the point)

although i do boot the mk4 20vt in the wet and grips well with toyos

  16. fullruns lol - i bought a car with those craps once ....they will kill you in the wet

yoko paradas are good tyres....loads of grip and wont let but the downfalls are:

    - they are numb through the steering - you cant feel the raod

    - they want to follow the ditches in the road (due to large shoulder pattern)

personally i don't think they suit these lighter cars, i think they are better suited to these heavier newer cars

toyo proxies all the way for me please

  17. Dad came back this evening and told me about an encounter tonight with a L reg Corrado which made an otherwise boring driving a bit more interesting.

He was on his way home from london to leicester and bumped into it around junction 19-21.

    Dad was driving a bright blue 3dr mk5 r32

The only details he knows about the Corrado is:

    - thinks it was a vr

    - is 150mph capable

    - either blue/purple but he said it was very dark

    - had wide wheels and lows

We are just interested as he described it to be a lovely car and both me and him are big fans of Corrados'!
