Hi. I'm looking to buy standard suspension and standard corrado wheels (with tyres). Cash waiting
-
is this something you can do 'at home' or is it best taking it to a garage? and they'l know straight away?

Hi. Just need a little help with what i think is a fuel leak on my VR6. Started the car last week, pulled it off the driver and noticed a trail of liquid following me. Went to where my car was sat and wiped it up and it was petrol. noticed a patch of petrol on the road and then once i moved the car back to the driveway there was a patch where i left the car. When the car was parked up i stuck some cardboard under the car (while the car was running it was ****ing out but once the car was turned off the petrol slowed down to a slow drip which i guess was the excess petrol coming out). The leak was coming from the front drivers side. Not drove the car since as i obviously dont want to risk setting fire to it or getting stranded somewhere. I don't know if it's related but it struggles to start up. Not sure if it's the viper alarm immobilizer that stops it starting as it takes a few turns of the key and i also have to pump the accelerator (which then results in a massive backfire which im sure my neighbours love every time i start it up). I have around 30 seconds at start up to actually start the car and them the immobiliser kicks in and i then have to turn the alarm on and off again etc. The car does start but then dies almost immediately. Anyone have any suggestions to either problem? I can't see where abouts the fuel leak is coming from but may it be acase of the fuel lines need replacing as they've perished with age? ANd also any help with the not starting problem?
-
ah ffs. yes but i bought another one last week. why is it such a ballache? :D
-
sunroof is completely broke...
-
does the headlining actually have to come out then? :/ seems abit drastic as i thought it would be the same as a mk2 ? I only want/need to take the panel out not the whole sunroof assembly
-
I washed my car last night and it seems as though part of the sunroof seal has fell away from the sunroof. It needed a new seal anyway so i am going to change it. However, when i changed it on my Mk2 golf i think i had to wind the sunroof back but the sunroof on my corrado doesnt work (it's electric obviously so can't wind it back). Is it possible to get the sunroof off while it's broke?

Looking for a standard VR6 oil pump as i'm changing from an R32 sump back to the standard VR6 sump so need all the stuff to do it. So anyone have an Oil pump for sale? cheers
-
Is it just a case of taking the old one off, taking the r32 oil pump off, fitting standard pump, fitting new vr6 sump? or does other stuff have to come off aswel?
-
Need my car for work really and don't have anywhere to have the car up on stands really that's all. Just need it fixed really.
-
The sump is aluminium yes. I don't know any garages that do aluminium welding that's all but it probably would work out cheaper that way.
-
Hi. not sure if this is in the correct thread, could someone move it if thats the case please? Anyway. My VR6 has a MK5 R32 sump (along with all the other stuff that it needs to make it work). Anyway i have a hole in it (small one so drops of oil every now and then). new sump from VW is £200+ when i went. Seeing as a VR6 sump from GSF is about £70 i was wanting to go back to that as even if i smash it it's only £70 rather than £200 each time. I'm going to have to get a garage to fit it all so want to try and get everything together and just let them fit it. So what is needed (part numbers would be great if anyone has them so it's easier to get them) to get my VR6 sump back. Unless anyone has done this 'modification' and has a spare r32 sump somewhere? :D

had my first sort of chufty today. Was behind a T5 and pulled up next to it. Guys wife in the passenger seat and he put her window down and gave me the thumbs up. Then asked if it was a scirocco :( told him no it was a corrado but he seemed confused :D he did say i had done a good job though which i will take ha.
-
I've finally converted to a corrado after being a mk1 guy but i'm struggling to find places to get parts. I got 90% of my parts from VW heritage but they don't do corrado parts iirc. So other than the dealers, gsf and euro carparts (maybe ebay) is there anywhere else to get parts? I don't need many parts yet apart from a bonnet cable but ECP shows nothing and gsf either unless i'm searching for the wrong things :/
-
Currently my bonnet cable has broke and is just held on by some mole grips which look stupid :D Just wondering where i can buy a new cable and the lever?
-
Hi, sorry if this is the wrong section, i've tried a search but it just brings up every single item about seats in build threads etc. I'm going buying a corrado (finally) today but it has the standard cloth seats in it. Ideally i want some recaros to upgrade it a little but i know the corrado recaros are going to have abit of a premium on them. So what other makes of VW fit straight in with no messing around? I'm looking at the mk2 golf, mk3 golf recaro style seats. So do they just fit straight in or will bases need to be modded?

do you find yourself being drawn back to the same model of car?

No idea but mine are absolutely boiling on number 3 :D can only have them on for a short time -

Nah it has to be a Vr6. Needs to have some poke to it and a 2.0 8v is just the most boring engine in the world. Tbf the heaters aren't that bad when they work. And my car currently has g60 brakes so stops pretty well. -

Yeah it's for sale now the mk1. I want to sell it because I'm not really after a mini project anymore. All it needs is abi of paint and a headlining. (It's my daily so have to sort things around when I don't need it). It's only for sale because I want a corrado or another mk1 that is already done. And it's not like I sell them cause they're broke or anything. I had my black mk1 which had an engine conversion, audio etc sorted but fell out of love with it and regretted selling. So I think il just buying another mk1 to try and get it back to that level and its not really there. So want a corrado so I can just get in and drive it and not have too much messing about with it apart from the general maintenance. -
Basically I love MK1 golfs. Have had 3 and currently own one (which is for sale). Now i have wanted a corrado for quite a few years but insurance on them is what has kept me back. That and the nervousness of buying a right dog. Now i think it's time to get my first corrado, however i can't get MK1s out of my head so im stuck at what to do. I know i'm on the corrado forum and you'll all tell me to get a corrado but do any of you find yourself selling your corrado, getting something different but then buying another corrado back? I want to jump ship to the corrado boat but i dont want to get to a point a month down the line and want a mk1 again :D There are 2 corrados for sale at the moment i like which pretty much tick all the boxes in corrado land. However there is a mk1 i've seen that i really want but needs a couple of changes but has the engine i want in a mk1. So how do you try and stay away from a model you're attached to? :/
-
Needed urgently is a front engine mount bracket. from any corrado 4pot, mk2 g60 or passat 4 pot. Anyone have one for sale? to fit my mk2 20vt with an o2a box
-
does anyone have a corrado that doesnt break?
Danny Ess replied to Danny Ess's topic in General Car Chat
seen a few for sale (not actually looked in person) just none seem to be tickling my fancy at the moment.
