  1. No sorry, sold some time ago. I forgot to withdraw the ad.
  2. Steve, what a fantastic job you've (had) done. Its really good to see the car looking as it should. I've passed the forum link onto my sister & brother in law who had the car before me, they'll be thrilled to see it as it is. Let me know when you're taking it to any shows, I'd love to see it in the flesh. Cheers. Steve
  3. Hi Steve, I've got a Mystic Blue Storm for sale. Its done 133,000 miles, has a full service history, MOT'd until December 2015. I've owned the car for about 5 years and my sister owned it for about 8 years (I think) before me. I've got a big file full of receipts, old MOTs, etc. Last year it had new disks all round, all the calipers were reconditioned by BiggRed, new pads, new ABS sensors and rings. I had a new radiator about 2 years ago together with a new crack pipe and an alloy thermostat cap. It had 4 new Toyo Proxes T1R tyres last year (done less than 1,000 miles) and the alloys were powder coated (and new BBS centre caps fitted) about 3 years ago - they're still like new. I stripped down and re-painted both the front radius arms and anti-roll bar and fitted new (rubber) bushes to all the front end (except top mounts which I renewed about 4 years ago). I fitted some AP coilovers last year (2nd hand) and to be honest they're not very good - the ride height looks great (not too low) but it is a bit crashy over bumps. If I keep the car I will replace these this year. The paint had faded on the bonnet and I did that last summer - looks great and matches well with the rest of the car. The interior is like new, I think the back seats have hardly been used. It has good condition carpet mats all round and genuine VW rubber mats which I fit in winter (front only). Everything works as it should - electric windows, heated seats, air conditioning (was re-gassed a couple of years ago), power steering, electric sunroof, electric mirrors, cd player (original and still has remote - cd players have improved a lot since 1995 though!) I clean out the rear arches and re-waxoyl them before every winter and there isn't a hint of rust there. I've done the front wings inside the covers as well - a bit OTT but I wanted to make sure there was no rust. The underneath is also good. It hasn't had, and doesn't need, any welding. The car is waxed regularly - I'm a bit anal about keeping the paintwork looking good. The exhaust is still fine (only recently passed MOT) but I have got a spare (mild steel) system which will go with the car. I bought it 2nd hand when I first got the car as the cover on the centre section looked as though it was on its last legs - 5 years on and its still OK. I fitted a different air filter a few years ago (bit chavvy I know) but it gives the best of both worlds - nice and quiet at low speeds, and a nice growl under hard acceleration. The car drives beautifully smoothly with no knocks or rattles. I always prefer to listen to the engine rather than the cd player/radio. The only other minus point is that the drivers side front wing needs painting again - it was the first thing I did when I learned to spray paint a few years ago, and now I know I can do it better. It looks OK from 10 feet away, but you can see its flaws on close inspection. There are 2 little car park dings on the passenger side, but you have to look for them. Overall I'd say its in excellent condition, not concourse, but it gets used everyday so it never will be. I'm looking for £3,200. I've attached 1 photo below (which shows the front wing that needs re-doing) but I can send you more if you're interested. I live in N E Derbyshire. Steve
  4. Still for sale if anyone is interested.

    Fog lights

That's the connector I've got - where's the other one for the drivers side? Thanks.

    Fog lights

Got the MOT tomorrow so thought I'd check simple stuff like lights. One of the front fog lights isn't working. Its not the bulb, I've replaced them and swapped them around etc......... Eventually traced all wires back to connector plugs, the drivers side wire runs across the front of the rad and plugs into the connector (2 pin), but the passenger side doesn't plug into anything, its just got an unconnected 2 pin plug on the end. This explains why one of the fogs didn't work. Swapped em over and it makes the other light work, so it looks as though I'm a connection to the loom missing!!! Where is it? Should the drivers side wire run across the front of the car, or is it that one thats missing??? Can someone have a look to see where the 2 plugs plug into the wiring loom. Thanks. '95 VR6. I'll try to post a photo. Steve
  13. Does anyone know where I can get hold of both types of headlamp adjusters for a 95 Corrado? Also, does anyone know the correct part no's - I've seen 535 941 141 and 535 941 297 quoted - not sure which is correct. Thanks. Steve
  14. Robbo - know how you feel re one job leading to another. Got round to fitting my new rad today, but not convinced it the right one - probably better to splash out on the VW one. I've attached 3 photo's showing old and new rad. Couple of questions: 1. There is a big difference (32mm v 26mm) in the depth of the 2 rads. Are new rads that much better than their 16 year old counterparts which makes this nothing to worry about, or is this just another economy measure to keep the cost down that will ultimately make it inferior to the real thing? 2. What are the brackets circled in green on the new rad for? They stop the fans fitting properly. Cheers. Cheers. Steve
  15. Don't mean to hijack your thread but I'm also fitting a new radiator at the moment. I'm a bit worried re the comment about supporting the engine (because I haven't) - surely the engine mounts are strong enough to hold it aren't they? Also, I've a couple of other queries which hopefully someone can answer. In the 2 hoses that go to and from the airconditioning compressor there are some screw cap valves which look like the valves on cycle wheels. I pressed one briefly and air came out. What are these for and when should they be used? 2nd question - when removing the passenger side headlight I came across this, what is it?
  16. I've just fitted some Supersport front suspension which I bought second hand last year to my Corrado VR6. When I road tested them I realised that the retaining cup wasn't big enough (I used the standard one I took off the old standard VW set up) for the top of the Supersport springs. They all fitted fine when I was assembling them, but as soon as I turned a corner the spring came over the top of the retaining cup - not good. Are there any bigger cups (ooh err missus) that can be used, or have I got the wrong springs? They are slightly wider (the final coil) than the standard springs at the top. Cheers.

    Golf VR6 coilovers

    Thanks guys. Steve
  18. Will Mk3 Golf VR6 FK coilovers fit a Corrado VR6 (1995)? Steve
  19. Hi, Can someone give me a step by step guide to removing the rear beam/axle. Are these the same on all Corrado's? Is there anything tricky about putting it back on - sure I've seen some thread talking about getting it properly aligned - is this a simple job for DIY? Thanks. Steve
  20. Thanks everyone - looks like being rubber - for starters at least.
  21. Hi, Just bought my first ever VW (Corrado VR6 Storm) which I'm highly delighted with. However, it does feel a tiny bit noisey/rattley over the bumps. Its completely standard. I will be having a more detailed look at the suspension and bushes to see what they're like, but I just wondered what the view is with powerflex bushes. I've heard some people say they're too hard and you should stick with rubber. What do people think? I've seen plenty of places advertising powerflex bushes, but can you still get the rubber ones anywhere - VW possibly???? Thanks. Steve
