  1. yeah i read your posts very good, they are the same price so i just dont know which to go for - edging toward the mk4`s i dunno why tho lol

disks are just standard ones and they are fine for another set so its just the pads i need

also i dont imagine i need 1144 on the rear some cheaper ones would prob be fine but might as well if im ordering the fronts too

  2. hi i`ve been trawling through the forum about which pads to use on my 16v with G60 front brakes and Mk4 rears, the disks, pads and calipers were put on 18months ago and have been fine until now.

i`ve settled on Mintex 1144 all round so pretty obviously i need G60 pads up front but its the rears i need to know what people have fitted.

corrado pads are 15mm thick MDB1382, i know these will fit as when the conversion was done the normal pads and disks were used but i`m not sure whether i should use Golf Mk4 pads which are 17mm thick MDB1377 as i read the pedal feel can be a bit long when using the thinner pads especially as the discs are not new and have a mm or so wear into them, i know the Mk4 will fit although some people have had to shave a mm or so off the pads to get them in.

so come on people tell me which to go for!

    cheers

  3. cleaning the blades with vinegar can help, i suffer from the same although im using really old blades just figured i need new ones and i use rain ex - drove from anglesey to leeds with out using my wipers once when it was rainiing quite a lot much to the worry of my passengers lol

  4. Just spent a week in Cornwall - based in Padstow, drove all around Cornwall right down to The Lizard, up to Newquay and back home again - must have covered 600+ miles all told and didn't see a single sodding Corrado!!

no way i just got back from a week in devon and cornwall even went to padstow, done over 1000miles and the only corrado we passed was on the way back from wakestock in pwllheli this moring, a purple m reg, but i was asleep!!

  5. to be fair 6k is damn good money for a rado as i imagine they could just sting you for a standard car if they wanted, you still have to pay a lot back but at least youd get it back to sell off the stuff etc, i found that as they increase the payout they tend to up the %cost of buy back - so your looking at 4k and your car back, which when my mate sold his 1.8t corrado for 4.5k a while back is not too bad.

good luck with it all such a shame

  6. another one to throw into the mix.

i have just got my hands on a golf2 lower front brace, i`ve offered it up and it looks like it will fit which makes sense although it does look like the gearbox will be very close, has anyone fitted one and what difference will it make if any?

im gonna have a go at fitting tomorrow, any tips??

    cheers
