  1. Apologies to anyone that's tried to get in contact with me in the past few weeks about the car but baby arrived four weeks early so spent nearly two weeks in hospital as he had a few problems and my phone battery only lasts two days and there quiet strict on no phone chargers. Still all home now, all good and have decided to put the corrado on ebay to see what happens. Thanks Andrew

  2. 1994 L reg

    136,136 miles

    Mot till 17/06/2014 (no advisories)

    Tax till 31/08/2013

For sale is my much loved Corrado VR6. I have owned it for just over 3 years during which time £0,000s has been spent. Full black leather interior with heated seats, central locking, immobiliser, electric windows, tilt and slide sunroof (occasionally doesn't slide all the way back but most of the time is fine), rear spoiler works as is should and with the button. Full respray in summer 2010 and garaged pretty much ever since so the body and paintwork look immaculate, I've only done 4,00ish miles and it has been off the road during the winters. During the last 3 years it has had: both engine mounts plus the gearbox mount, track rod ends, passenger wheel bearing, drivers wheel bearing, drivers hub, drivers ball joint, drivers caliper, rear brakes hoses, brake pipes front to back and rear side to side, rear discs and pads, rear caliper, brake disc shields all round, sunroof repair kit, sunroof seal, genuine vw carmats, window rollers (forum group buy), new vw and vr6 badges, new headlight lense, handbrake tunnel bracket (forum group buy), starter motor, bumper grille, dash bulbs, thermostat, plug leads, four wheel tracking, rear wheel bearings, front anti roll bar linkages, wax oiled, water pump + fresh coolant, front abs sensors plus oil and a K&N panel filter. Plus lots of old receipts and stamped service book. It does have a stainless steel back box make unknown and lupo style wiper blades fitted by a previous owner butdon't look out of place. Car was Hpi clear when I bought it and I do have the original side rubbing strips to go with it. Also includes a kenwood cd player with remote control.

Only two bad points to mention, first since I wax oiled it over the winter the abs light now comes on, its fine on start up, goes on and off as it should but once you reach 15mph and it does its speed check it buzz's and comes on. Second bad point is the passenger side door card could do with a re-trim as its been damaged and repaired at sum point.

Overall the cars a pretty immaculate original vr6 which looks and sounds amazing, I did intend to keep for a long time but a recent house move with lots of diy to come and a baby on the way force a reluctant sale

  3. Car back on the road now after its winter hibernation, still feels like winter out though. Have achieved a little progress over the winter months, it's all wax oiled now, changed the thermostat and put some coolant flush in it to clean it all out ready for fresh coolant and I now have a slight leak - new water pump and belt ordered.

Polished it all up so it looks its best, even the missus said it looked good!! The car does actually get a lot of attention, lots of looks from passers by.

Now for the sad news, am going to have to sell it. A house move and baby on the way means its going to have to go, it is a second car and with a future lack of funds and time means I have to really sell it

  4. I finally have the corrado in the garage to wax oil it. My question is on starting to clean the built up mud off with a soft brush in the archs I noticed the arch was coming up the same colour as the car, did they come like that from factory? Stupid question maybe I had noticed before in between all the textured bits of mud and dirt some blackberry coming through but presumed it was probably over spray as the car has had paint before. If so I'll just wash and try to polish them rather than coating them in wax oil.

Having recently wax oiled our 2002 ford focus I must say the corrado is in a lot better condition underneath, yes all the black metal bits have surface rust and need painting but the shell itself is solid, quiet impressed. There's no contest comparing the rust free rear corrado arches to the rusty ones of the focus, mainly thanks to the material inner arch linings soaking up the wet and sitting up against the shell.

  5. Spotted today Tuesday 26 June on the a46 outside of Lincoln near nettleham, i was actually in my blackberry vr6 when coming towards me was a bright red and shiny corrado m reg, think it may have been a vr6 was that shocked to see another one, it did look good. Was thinking of flashing my lights but they flashed me first and waved :thumbleft: So i flashed back and waved, was cool about it tho.

  6. Think its about time I updated this really as a lots happened since my last entry. Where to start....

Finally repaired my drivers heated seat, its never worked since I acquired them. Turned out the pad in the seat base was at fault, inquired at VW and NLA, try VW heritage and £110!! so decided to take the seat apart and investigate further. Was an easy fix in the end, opened the pad up to find a wire broken as it joined the resister, soldered back together plug the seat in and you can hear the rely clicking again as its turned on and off.

Bought a new bulb for the cigarette lighter, I no not essential but helps with my ocd and it slightly helps to illuminate the heater dials a bit which lets face it need all the help they can get.

New sunroof seal fitted as my old one had a slight tire in one corner, new plug leads, new tyre pressure sticker from ebay thanks to someone posting a link from this forum, speedo screw covers fitted again off ebay a link from this forum. New trim clips for rear door cards.

Front wheels re-balanced and new weights on the inside of the alloys, four wheel alignment.

Gearbox mount, front and rear engine mounts replaced - made a huge difference, gear changes now are so nice and the engines a lot smoother when you take your foot off the accelerator not jerky boarding on violently jerky like it was before. A lot better now, taken years off the car to drive and feels a lot tighter up front.

Car failed its MOT the other week :onfire: . Rear brake pressure regulator leaking and nearside rear wheel bearing. Plus four advisories, offside rear wheel bearing, nearside front track rod end, nearside and offside front anti-roll bar linkage. All now replaced and ready to go back for a retest on monday....

  7. Confirms what I thought about supplier then as what you describe is exactly what I found. Tabs didn't line up even close.

Think the tab on the bottom was ok side to side but could have done with being a bit further back, it was the tab on the side that caused the most problems - could have done with being slightly higher up and further back. But I suppose we should be grateful as they are obsolete parts.

Still having a cover on both sides helps with my OCD :bonk:

On the other hand maybe were all looking at this the wrong way round and what we actually need are new speedo surrounds so the tabs line up :thumbleft:

  8. Mine have arrived, fitted the one side I wanted (left side). Presume on a 94 car I would have the later clocks? But as has been said fitment isn't the best, think the little clips on the back don't align with the holes in the dash surround, but a bit of filing down and a few layers of double sided tape and it fits nicely. Much better than looking at a hole with a screw head showing.

  9. Grill in good condition apart from 2 out of the 3 top clips/securing brackets have broken off. Only 1 left on the top, but all 3 prersent on the bottom. Still sits in place ok, to good to throw away as could be of use to someone. £5 posted - Sold to VWVW

Rear Corrado badge original in chrome with black edging, but some of the chrome has been rubbed away with age across the top on the lettering, especially the 'd'. £5 posted - Sold to goozie

    ab4.jpg

VW badge for grill (from a late grill) ok condition, few stone chips and not quite as shiny as it looks in the picture. £5 posted

    ab6.jpg

Rear VW badge, was originally chrome but now just looks like grey primer, ideal for painting. £5 posted

    ab8.jpg

VR6 grill badge, slight different style to original one (was on car when I bought it). Good condition but one of the securing clips on the back has broken off but the other 2 still hold it in place tight. £5 posted - Sold to goozie

Cloth interior - includes front seats, rear seats with hump and front and rear door cards. Overall in good condition from my 94 VR6, is black with slight pattern. Only wear is to drivers seat and its very slight wear to the bolsters top and bottom - more wear to the sponge underneath than to the material, still looks ok. On the drivers door card noticed a small crack about 10mm in length on the edge near to where the screw holes are to secure the door card to the door (about 20mm down from top screw hole) not massively noticeable but its there. £150 collection only really due to size and weight - Sold to Fishwick (awaiting collection)

  10. Hi there, are you still looking an interior? Leather or cloth? I have a cloth interior (front seats, rear seats with hump and front and rear door cards) that I shall be putting up for sale this weekend once I've taken some pictures. Its out of a 1994 vr6. Don't no If am a bit far south for you, I'm at Market Rasen in Lincolnshire, which is half way between Grimsby and Lincoln off the A46.

  11. I have one sat in my garage not doing anything, both clips on the back are in tact. Just the chrome look finish on the front is fading which is why I replaced it. Tried to take a good picture of it but these three are the best I could get.

    How's £7.50 posted sound
