  1. Full size spare tire solution courtesy Porsche 911 and early Lexus/Toyota front wheel drive 5.5x15" steely. Read on .... Corrado to Porsche folding Spare tire project.
  2. I just saw a blip of this thread while searching Google for info on a Jet edition Corrado. I had to look at date this was started two or three times. Count me in for a gb on this you do it. I have a 9.2L dual washer tank from a '90 Golf I want to use for this mod. I'm at [email protected] to reach me quicker. Michael (Pete was the pug dog, RIP) I have a pre owned (rescued) French bulldog now
  3. I'm a couple of months away from my motor build. It's a Basic PG block, 1.9 on forged BBM pistons. My TEC GT-1 is still out of commission so I'm using the mothballed (stock) G60 with a 68 mm pulley (approx 15lb boost). When the GT-1 goes back on I'll easily be over the 15lb mark. ECU has an Autotech (Autothority) Stg III chip (runs rich!) now and I'm sure it's well beyond it's potential after the build. The head, exh and intake have been ported/polished/matched. The head runs a tt 270, 40x33 on the valves (7mm) w/ Ti Retainers, l/w lifters & BBM rising rate FPR, ISV reroute, tt s/s downpipe, VR cat. A BBM a/w intercooler is going in and out to a tt 2.5 s/s dual Borla exh. Has anyone used the 1.5 bar map sensor & chip from BarTek or ... Has anyone seen any benefit to running a MSD (Cap Dischg) or have feed back on thermal coating for the exh manifold/downpipe on a G60?
  4. This is more of an Audi thing. A lot of folks are putting the Audi RNS-e nav systems in their cars. I'm really interested in this too. I've heard yea and na about how difficult it is to move the HVAC controls in the Corrado into where the cig lighter and ash tray are. It wouldn' matter though if you had climatronic in there. . There are really good can-bus emulators out there. The 1st one that comes to mind is from Kufatec http://kufatec.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=188_114_116&products_id=279&zenid=fe8f73a6b09b47b8efe5e0816f590215 In 2007 I added the RNS-e to my '02 Allroad. There are quite a few versions available that will fit in the Corrado once the Double Din is created from moving the HVAC about. Climatronic is a great option. I can't take on either project until I can garage the Corrado for a while. The climatronic conversion has been done before and looks great!
  5. Sounds like it's time for a TDI swap. It's a long shot but do you think there is anyone finishing their TDI conversion that would trade your G60 for their swap with a little. Most folks in the States that have done this swap have completed two or three TDI swaps. They're always looking for another good candidate to convert again. Frank's TDI conversion is actually faster than a G60. http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=142679
  6. This may be a permanent fix for ya: http://www.originalgermanfolks.com/corrado.htm Replace or repair.... Here's another link http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?1823097-***corrado-BROKEN-door-handle-repair-INSTRUCTIONS***&highlight=door+handle+repair

    seatbelt rail?

I just yanked those things out last night. I had donor from a Candian car to get normal belts in the car. It's a great option available only stateside. The electric seatbelt portion runs from the ebrake lives over next to where the side view mirror is. As you sit down you're supposed to latch a waist belt. When the ignition is switched on the electric portion pulls the other belt from the a pilar to the b pilar and effectivly spills your scalding hot coffee or tea on your lap. This irritating feature works well for the passenger too. If either of you open your door with the car running to look behind where you're backing up, the system will strangle you. I hate to say it but it did work best for drive thru ordering of Big Mac's :bonk:
  9. If it's the behind the panel in the back seat you have a buzzing relay from the seat heaters.
  10. Try this thread ... http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?3078876-The-unofficial-Cluster-Swap-thread&p=66839736#post66839736
  11. Hi Everyone from the States, I'm the Orig owner of my '90 G60 and finally aquired a set of Canadian electric cloth Recaro seats. I gutted my NA spec seat belts last night. I've installed a set of seat belts from a Canadian donor. I was getting ready to install the harness for the heated seats and saw that there's no obvious bracket or mounting point for the heated seat relays behind the rear seat panel. I know where they go but need to know how and where they are attached Does anyone have a pic of how the heated seat relays are mounted behind the panel in the back seat? I'd like to keep things as close to oe as possible. Michael
